Dont bother, just watch the highlights package

Watching the Alonso spin is worth a few views for the lulz. Between him and Louie they just dont know when to say when

I'd hardly put Alonso in the same category as Hamilton. Looked like a pure racing incident to me. Button had the inside line but that is the outside line being a chicane.

He didnt really have anywhere to go short of almost stopping mid corner imo, and the stewards seem to agree

fixed that for ya. it wasn't a 'spin'. He left room for Button. Button didn't return the favour and decided to use the 2011 McLaren tactic of "if you can't pass them, punt them" and barged into his rear tyre. Good thing they engineer the McLaren front A arms to be Lewis proof...

Schumacher had Webber lined up at turn 1 on one of the restarts but didn't punt him. Lucky there wasn't a WDC resting on it.

Very un-Schumacher-esque.

It was great to see Schuey actually looking like he should be there rather than looking like Rosberg's lapdog.

No he didnt. Button was there, alonso refused to yield

He was up the inside and alonso decided to turn in and bump wheels, unfortunately for nando, he came off second best.

Full crdit to schumacher for this, which is rare for me, but if it was button v schui, i dont think the cars would have touched.

I call that leaving room (which is yeilding - he certainly did not turn in on him) and being punted in the rear tyre.

a) Thankful I woke up after my alarm at 4 instead of 2 (although I did miss the Louis show :/ )

b) F1 + cotton wool = Montreal?

c) Awesome drive by Button

d) Definitely robbed of a great battle between Schumi and Webber, for a podium, on a tricky circuit, in tricky conditions by the poorly devised DRS.

good drive from webber today. And great to see vettel throw it away

:O and :D

I call it as alonso braking far too late into a corner in a vien attemp to hold a position that he had already lost

That picture is deceiving, Fernando has gone far too deep into the corner. The replay from the mercedes rear wing shows how late he had to brake to make the corner as well as the steering angle he cranked on to make it stick.

much like louie, to stubborn to admit defeat

Alonso braked very late yes, but made the corner no problem at all, while leaving room for the other car AND putting all but a car-length on him in the process! It's Button who didn't slow enough and couldn't make the corner without running into the other car. quite often the racing line is more slippery in the wet and that probably contributed to Jenson understeering into him. I don't think he hit him intentionally, those smart arse remarks were more putting shit on Louise.

I think the drivers need to man up and race in the rain. They are the best in the world (and paid that way too), i'm pretty sure the throttle goes both ways, if you're too scared (that's you vetool) you can always pull into the pits and retire.

The dumb thing is that the track get worse when the cars arn't circulating at speed

My take on the Alonso vs Button thing is it was a racing inceident with Button most at fault. Alonso was clever with hanging around the outside knowing that if he left Button enough room on the inside that he would not be able to get far enough alongside before the left hander and he would have been able to slow them both up at the apex to the left hander and Button would have not got past.

But in being clever and trying to apply some race craft he left himself exposed to being punted. I think the fact that Button is a clean racer he thought it was a minimal risk, however in teh slick conditions that car just got away from him and he punted Alonso. Would have been great racing if Button had of managed to just slow the car up a tad more.
