I dont think for a second that Webber has a shot at the title. But if he stops trying to win or beat a slower car in front then I want to see him hang up the helmet.

Something I have always said about Webber, and like about him is if his performances are not up to par he generally looks at what has to be done and goes about improving. He doesnt do a JV, Hill, Button etc and blame the car. So he has to keep on pushing and believing that he can bridge the gap and on his day beat the other guy.

Years ago MS crashed and broke a leg and missed races. More recently Perez crashed and missed races. Alonso had a hell of a 2nd half of the year and almost won the WDC. I dont think Webber has a shot, but if Vettel bins it like he did in the sphincter of the universe and Canada and bangs up his leg etc...then who knows. You got to keep pushing and get the maximum result...being an Aussie it may be the only way he will win it is when someone else throws it away :)

...and will have to agree to disagree re team orders. After the legality of team orders was announced last year the owner of Red Bull publically made a point to come out and say we will never be Ferrari, we believe in the sporting aspects of F1 and will never adopt team orders. Pretty clear in my book what he think the basis of his team is about. Shame with their success they are now just another political machine full of spin and BS :(

Come on Danielson in the HRT. I know what shirt I am buying next weekend in Germany :)

good point bloodnut. look at kubica? massa? and yes I remember schueys broken leg(s?) maybe 2001? or 2003?

seriously troy. challenge vettel to a fight in the carpark. he looked scared when I tried it at monza....

which reminds me. the italian fans were a bunch of girls. my lone 'carn webber' shouts could be heard over all the surrounding so called tifosi and all the english ring-ins sprouting their hamilton/button love. and we were standing at parabolica for god's sake. they are supposed to be vocal and drunk? my primary school headmistress could out drink and out shout the lot of them.

It's never over till the fat lady sings. But i'm thinking it will be more like when Loab broke his arm mountain biking, and still one the championship, and less like when Shu broke his leg a lost it.

The Webber/Vettel thing wasn't remotely the "biggest" part of the race for me...... I found the entire race fantastic, I was on the edge of my seat for all of it.

You must be easily excited.

Was a few sections that were typcial fall-asleep boring, i know cause i fell asleep :D

He did....but you dont think the context is a little different ? I am happy to be told I am being one eyed. But Massa was well behind Alonso and Alonso was still in the hunt for the WDC. Alsono needed the points more then Massa.

This time round, Vettel has bolted and has the WDC in the bag. Webber is racing for P2 in the WDC and if anything needs the points more then Vettel to try and gap Alonso and the two Macs.

So, i see the Alonso-Massa situation as a reason why if they were going to apply team orders on the basis of WDC they should have pushed Mark through....but that was never going to be the case and I dont really want it to be the case either.

Mark said it made sense and that team orders exist in F1. That is true. What sense did it make to stop Webber from racing Vettel...This is assuming that both have the maturity to not take each other out. And as someone else pointed out, Vettel is 2-0 for taking Webber out :(

They were lighweights! Still a great experience, but suspect Silverstone is THE GP to experience then Monaco.

sounds pretty similar so far... :P

Its obvious the team's priorities are WDC and WCC. There was nothing to gain for the team in the pass. Constructers points would be the same. The extra 3 points for Mark obviously pales into insignificance behind the haul of 33 constructer's points they felt were at risk. Makes sense to me.

yeah the only hardcore ones were all the gypsies trying to pick our pockets while we stood watching their card games!

agree but not on the order. we have now both done a few GPs and I reckon next one should be monaco, then silverstone. then japan (suzuka of course) and spa on equal terms. then rank monza and aus GP.

I'm with roy. it's grasping at straws a bit but if vettel were to get injured (say in the carpark at hungry by a aussie webber fan?) and was out for 4 races it's not unreasonable to see webber winning 3 or even all 4 of those races (given how many second places he's had behind vettel). vettel is currently 80 points ahead of webber. 3 wins would see webber now only 5 points behind and 4 wins would put him 20 points ahead.

troy, make it both legs mate. 5 races might be better.

I'd like to go to Monaco with you guys.

yeah you can join team brisbaron. we are always looking for new members to help extend the time it takes to go from paying for a round to having to pay for a round again....

a few years back I very nearly went on a cruise (no not P+O) that goes from the sth of france and stopped at nice, cannes film festival and then monaco for the GP. with this mob http://www.windstarcruises.com/ the don't seem to do a GP trip anymore. I guess that means we'd have to drive there in hired ferrari's then? or even better we all buy E36 M3s and have a no holes barred mini world championship. take in zandvoort, Spa, silverstone. nurburgring and a few special stages thrown in?

    • Hey guys. I have a 400R on its way to Australia from Japan currently and have a few questions I’m hoping others may be able to help with.   Wondering if anyone here has had any luck getting the Sat nav unit to work in Australia!? Assuming the Stereo is as simple as a band expanded and tv won’t work?  Seeing as they’re based off a Q50 which is Aus delivered is there any way to link that system to the nav? Nav modules and head unit are different part numbers and appear slightly different at the rear with plug ins etc. can I put my xtrail sd card into the rv37 and will that convert the maps or update to Australian? Has anyone got any advice here?     also has anyone fitted the factory remote start and Security system once it’s landed in Australia? I put an enquirey to Nissan Japan in via a third party, and they suggested it needs a Nissan Japan dealers device to setup and couldn’t guarantee if one here could do it or not. They can supply and I can physically fit it but to setup I would need a dealers device. Any information here would be appreciated also. I’ve seen one here with it fitted already prior to leaving Japan at a dealer/inporter, so clearly passes compliance and works when fitted Japan and doesn’t need changing here.      also, does the tyre inflation sensors work here? Does anything change with them when the vehicle arrives? Where are they actually situated? I’ve read they have batteries and they need to changing at times and seems like resetting involves the nav system?    any help here would be appreciated and any other aust specific information to help would be great. Looking forward to see what the current generation skyline is like and eager to see how many of the gadgets can be utilised here.  Thanks in advance
    • Do need to take it with a pinch of salt. One of the adapter failures, they clearly had setup issues with the flywheel.  One of the slipping ones I spoke to and it was pretty clear the throwout was riding, rather than fix, just swapped to a new clutch.    These clutches are being put in anything from 5k offroad 4x4 beaters, GR yaris, 500hp commodores to 1200hp barra monsters. Bound to be some issues in some of them when they are not a simple bolt in affair due to the changes in height.    There is a lot going on in this picture and unless I did the job myself no way to tell what really happened.
    • I did this mod in 2019  You just have to modify the top bracket of the ABS/TC/Fuel Pump Control ECU so it sits more upright and closer to the back seat and run a good quality positive battery lead from the engine bay, the negative lead i just bolted down to the body in the boot.
    • Damn... Not the feedback I want to hear.
    • Twas your car many moons ago that gave me the idea!
