Early in the year the good oil was Grosgean was top of the list, Senna 2nd. He needed/wanted to focus on GP2 as last time round he gave away the championship. Mid year they started saying that late in the year Renault were looking to test Senna and Grosgean on race weekends, but Senna would go first if the opportunity arose as Grosgean had to wrap up the championship.

Then the Heidfeld thing went south, Senna got his chance and have to say had a pretty good debut....sponsors jumping on board and you have to wonder with Grosjean is now going to just sit around because both Petrov and Senna bring money to the team. In my heart of hearts I think Grosjean is a good thing and would really shine

I am a bit neither here nor there about F3000. Like all the other lower formulae it doesnt demonstrate you can cut it in F1 - just that you may be competitive. Many of the F2/F3000 champions careers have spluttered out and conversely many of the lesser lights have gone on to shine.

Look how Ricciardo has treated it. He doesnt really care anymore and didnt all this season near as I can tell.

You will all eat your words. Was talking to Mark on Wednesday and he said the engineers have been working hard on the software to simulate the grip levels and required clutch adjustment. He is pretty sure that the new setup along with his usual lightning fast reflexes will see him jump a few places on the grid. So I am convinced this is going to be the race of his season

Be realistic Roy, how do you jump a few places if you are on pole?

He will put it on pole. But the tactic is to stall it on the take off for the warm up lap. That will get him angry and on the back of the grid, fired up for a magnificent start when the lights go out

or hamo will be at the pointy end of the field and then drop 2 wheels off onto the artificial grass at lesmo and then go sliding backwards into the fence like he did a few years back, lol
