no wonder the sob has been a sob...

Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton has confirmed his break-up with Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger after frenzied speculation in the tabloid press.

A downbeat Hamilton said the end of the high-profile, four-year relationship had been "very tough" to deal with after a difficult season in which the 2008 champion sits just fifth in the drivers' standings.

"I've been dealing with it on my own with great support from my family," the BBC reported Hamilton saying.

"It's very tough (but) I was still able to focus at the last race and I still have that attitude."

Hamilton's joyless demeanour was noticeable at this month's Korean Grand Prix, where he placed second, and he delayed his arrival in India until Wednesday to "maximise" his time among friends and family.

"When those kind of things in your life are good they have a great impact on your life - and that relationship did," he said.

"I wouldn't say that I was in great spirits. It's been a tough couple of weeks and I don't think the last race did anything for me.

"It was good to get back on the podium but it's only one race - it's been a whole year of ups and downs. Hopefully with more races I'll begin to feel a boost."

    • How do people sell and buy modified cars in Victoria? Because internet says you have to get a RWC every time the car is sold. In NSW the blue slip / full check is only required for cars that had their registration lapsed or are bought from interstate. The yearly pink slip / rego check just looks at tyres, lights, leaks and things like that. They tend to not care about modifications. So can buy a car that is modified as long as it was registered before modifications. And then keep driving it. With the lingering threat of getting defected and fu<ked at any time.
    • I think just better tyres, I'm just on Hankook RS-4 tyres at the moment, which aren't really meant for the track. Also, been mucking around with my suspension for sometime now and I'm really happy bow neutral it is. Car doesn't want to just oversteer or understeer like it did years ago.  Time to put on proper tyres one day and see what the shit box can do at SMSP, One Raceway and Luddenham again.

    • It's not "interpreted as" it literally is no more than 1 mod to the intake system. The turbo is considered something that affects emissions. So this has 0.0% chance of passing it's current state. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this would absolutely need thousands to get on the road. Perhaps the seller still has the stock bits, but god knows what state the OEM wiring is to run the ECU, whether an OEM cluster is still available, etc. Generally speaking, RWC testers in Victoria are more conservative than the rules actually are to boot, so even if the car will pass, they won't even want to look at it, nor consult the actual roadworthiness requirements. They will simply throw it in the too hard basket with a flavor of arrogance and move onto the next job, even if the mods you have meet the requirements of VSI14.
