more news from the world of bs

According to the Daily Star, 'controversial Brit Lewis Hamilton could be in line for a sensational switch to Ferrari.'

:/ if the Daily Star said it's true it must be true.

bruno might not have a drive next year.

"He (Romain Grosjean) is part of the plan," Boullier. "We would like to have him in the car if Robert cannot come back.

it's not 100% if Vitaly Petrov is going to be in next year either.

Pedro de la Rosa is back.

"When deciding on joining this project, for me there were three decisive factors: my desire to return to the active competition, the fact that HRT is a Spanish team and getting to know the people leading this project, Luis Pérez-Sala being amongst them.

Jean-Eric Vergne reckons he would do "no worse" than Mark Webber if Red Bull opted to put him in one of their cars.

"So I think if you were to put me in a Red Bull, I would do no worse than Webber. That's my impression anyway after the test.

three days of testing and he thinks he's number one.

Bruno Senna has all but been told that his days at Renault are number after Eric Boullier revealed he wants Romain Grosjean in the car next year.

There has been a lot of talk about Renault's 2012 line-up in recent weeks especially as fans around the world await word on whether or not Robert Kubica can return to Formula One next season.

The Pole has been out since suffering horrific injuries in a rally accident in February with his 2011 race-seat going to first Nick Heidfeld and then Bruno Senna.

But like Heidfeld was dropped in favour of putting Senna in the car, it appears that Boullier is ready to the same to Senna after admitting he wants GP2 Champ Grosjean to race should Kubica not be able to make a return.

"He (Grosjean) is part of the plan," Boullier told the official F1 website. "We would like to have him in the car if Robert cannot come back.

"It is true that in 2009 he was not ready to be in Formula One and he clearly burnt himself. Even so his performance was quite good - he was only three-tenths off the pace of Fernando even though the car was not very good at that time, which makes it even more difficult for a young driver to step into F1.

"When he runs on Fridays he shows that he can deliver and gives good feedback. Clearly the guy has talent and everybody is convinced about that. It is my job to make him ready to step in."

There could yet be a twist in the tale, though, as while Vitaly Petrov has a contract for next season - and much-needed financial backing - his recent rant at the team could cost him his place.

"I have a contract," he said at the end of his rant to the Russia 2 television channel. "But as I have already said before, even World Champion Kimi Raikkonen was asked to leave F1 for a certain sum of money.

"It's hard to do anything in this world if someone wants you to be removed

i just fcuking love the name 'Roman'

missus isnt on board with i unfortunately

I really hope Grosjean gets the nod. If he takes over I will start wearing my Renault-Lotus jacket with a little more pride. He is my boy!

I originally bought the Lotus top because I was boycotting the c0ck gargling RBR team, and I have a sfot spot for Petrov. I admire Petrovs fighting ability and he is genuinely very good at defending position and has some pace. But overall I think in his second season alongside Heidfeld and more recently Senna he hasnt shown he has any speed advantage in either quali or race over Senna, an inexperienced rookie as such.

So I think on merit you would have to pout Senna and Grosjean in the seats for next year. But I suppose Petrov will be haging around which all in all will make for my team to support next year.

As for Vergne, he has done some solid results mixed with impressive performances. I think Disco Dan needs to get his head down and keep a march on the 12 months head start he has over him, as if nothing else his political power mixed with his ability and determination could see him jump Dan. As to who is the better prospect ? Who knows but it could very well be Vergne >_<

But, then again we could see a straight fight between the two RBR proteges next year... http://joesaward.wordpress.com/2011/11/21/de-la-rosa-signs-for-hrt-interesting-timing/

ohhh yeah, time to buy some Brabham merch.

Speaking of which I've booked for a group of us to sit in the Brabham stand at the GP next year.

I was going to get tickets for Brabham stand but looks like I am in Belgium the week after so best save my money :whistling:

As for old school merch. I already am the daggiest dresser you will meet with old/new car fluff. Most is based around Porsche, Gulf and Steve McQueen :)

Came across these again just now;

Webber's number one???

He has a point though - just about anyone in the field could have piloted the 2nd RBR around to 4th, possibly 5th in the WDC.

Can he get the car off the line? If so, he's better.

So

Lets try n peice together what we believe the grid will look like

Sponser: redbull

Engine: renualt

1) vettel 2) webber (last yr?? Or did he sign for 2?)

Sponser vodafone

Engine mclaren (final year then its honda i think)

1) button 2) hamilton

Sponser : malbrough

Engine :ferrari

1) alonso 2) massa

Was gonna post the same thing after reading that, but thought I'd give the one eyed Webber fans a break :P

    • I’d love to find some where that can recover the dashes to look brand new and original. Mine has a very slight bubble, nothing compared to some I’ve seen though
    • $170K. I asked one of the guys there as a joke if that price was just for the passenger seat as it was where the price sheet was... he tried really hard to crack a smile 😄 He also mentioned that every single part of the car was inspected and either restored or replaced with a new or as new part, or made from scratch. The interior was incredible, every inch like a new car.
    • Time for a modernisation, throw out the AFM, stock O2s, ECU into the e-waste bin. Rip out the cable throttle, IACV, pedal, etc. into the scrap metal bin. DBW, e-throttle, modern ECU, CANbus wideband, and the thing will drive better than when it left the factory.
    • I agree, don't go trusting those trims. As I said, first step is to put the logger away, and do the basics in diagnosis.   I spend plenty of time with data loggers. I also spend plenty of time teaching "technicians" why they need to stop using their data loggers, and learn real diagnostics.   The amount of data logs I play with would probably blow most people away. I don't just use it to diagnose. I log raw CAN data too, as a nice chunk of my job is reverse engineering what automotive manufacturers are doing.
    • I'm aware, but unless you're actually seeing the voltage the ECU is seeing and you're able to verify the sensors are actually working I find it hard to just trust STFT/LTFT. I will say, logging the ECU comes naturally to me because it's one of the lowest effort methods of diagnosis and I do similar things in my day job all the time. Staring at 20+ charts looking for something that isn't quite right isn't for everyone. NDS1 allows you to log almost everything so that's normally what I do and then sort out the data later.
