^that was at the old sandown gp track, if you look close you can see peter brocks torana. :)

as for Jean-Eric Vergne, there's a big difference between ''testing'' and ''racing'', for one you don't have to dodge lewis hamilton. Edited by tweety bird

The worlds most handsome F1 driver has decided he is best to sit out 2012 so who will be sitting alongside the worlds second most handsome F1 driver? Thinking about it, Renault in 2010 had one ugly line up. To think after all those pretty boy ING ads with Alonso and PK Jr...they end up with the East European Mafia in black Bonds shirts, gold chains and big noses >_<

Sponser: redbull

Engine: renualt

but they pry the Renno badges off and stick some Infiniti ones on with dbl-sided tape

classic you mention this- saw North by Northwest for the first time at the cinema tonight (don't ask), and it occured to me that Petrov must have been the love-child of Martin Landau and some ruski broad. tell me I'm wrong

more on Kubica, his manager has denied that the Pole told Renault he cannot race next season.

"I don't understand why Renault has changed Robert's words," Morelli told the Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper."It's not true he won't be ready for 2012: he stated he doesn't have certainty that he will be in shape for the first tests in February.

"We count on and hope to be ready, but in any case the delay will be a few months, 2013 was never mentioned. Renault will go its way with regards to the drivers, while we will look for alternative solutions.

"[The contract] does not extend to 2012, it ends at the end of December, so from 1st January will we be free to go in whatever direction."

Jonathan Neale has something to say about the honda rumour.

"We are very happy with and enjoying our partnership with Mercedes-Benz. We are not quite sure where that story came from in truth.

"But I can stop the rumour and say that we are entirely focused on out Mercedes-Benz relationship. It is a long one spanning many wins and Championships and long may it continue."

Story going around that Trulli's 2012 contract is not necessarily a race contract and with RBR giving them rear ends etc then Vergne or Disco Dan could be in the Caterham in 2012

Meanwhile Vergne saying he could do the same job as Webber. Webber 0.2sec quicker than Vettel, Vergne 0.6 seconds of Jaime ...he's dreaming :domokun:

update on Kubica.

We agreed, because obviously Robert couldn't start the season next year with us, or anybody actually, with Daniele Morelli to make a communication," said Boullier."So at least we could inform people about what is going on.

"He approved the communication so everything was fine. He approved it, and now he is upset with I don't know what to be honest. I don't want to comment more because it's a waste of time."

so he's out for the start, we'll probably see him in friday practice.

Nico Hulkenberg wants all or nothing.

"I hope it is a matter of one or two weeks," said the German, adding the won't remain on the race sidelines another year.

"I won't do this (being test driver) a second year. That is out of the question," he said.

Asked whether other racing events were an alternative, Hulkenberg said: "Yes, of course. But I haven't done anything (in that direction) yet."

i will be very surprise if the hulk and dan don't have drives for next year, they have shown they are very hungry and very talented imo.

"It's a little bit disappointing," the Brit, who was half a second off the pace."We're still on the second row but I would have liked to have been stronger. I'm not too happy with my performance. I just wasn't quick enough.

i found where martin brundle got his source for that kimi rumor, Andrew Benson (BBC Sport online F1 editor) posted it on twitter. :ermm:

Some driver gossip: Raikkonen to Williams looks over. Sutil new fave for that seat, but some saying their Finnish reserve Valtteri Bottas

    • Um. No. Since Matt introduced the TIM it has become a lot easier to deal with the consequences of changing K for AFM and injector swaps. Then, tuning is a f**king doddle. No-one needs to know or care how many grams of air are flowing or any other bullshit. Need more fuel in a cell? Add more fuel. Need more timing in a cell. Add more timing. Need to adjust any of the other tables for warm up and so on? No harder than anything else. Sure - it's not an ECU system for starting from scratch on an arbitrary engine. But then.....it was never supposed to be, not recommended for, and almost never used that way. So.... On your engine, in particular, Nistune/Nissan OEM is about as sophisticated and difficult as banging 2 rocks together. Those ECUs are primitive and simple. There is nothing difficult there. I learnt Nistune from scratch, created new maps with extended axes, interpolated/extrapolated the original maps onto them and tuned my RB20 (basically the same ECU as your 26 ECU) all by myself, more than 20 years ago. And that was long before even TIM.
    • Set of knee pads for a R34. Will fit every model I think. Comes with everything except the rubber covers for the bolt holes. Still in great condition. You will need to drill holes to mount these or use double sided tape. I can do free shipping and will be shipping from the Netherlands with tracking.
    • Nistune needs something like an entire excel spreadsheet in which you build an abstraction layer that converts everything from real units you can actually measure into all of the various tables. The number of unexpected dependencies hiding in how the Nissan ECUs do math is a pretty impressive optimization trick for 8-bit MCUs but good god is it awful to actually work with in practice.
