I think you need to be honest with people Russell.

I find out I was not the only one to make the trip up from Adelaide to look at this car and find the Structural Rust.

You acted like you had never seen it before, which was dishonest.

LONG drive from adelaide.. i'd be spewin!

so where's the structural rust?

how about some pics?

Dishonest my ass, You seen it and said it would cost thousands. I took it to a panel beater the next monday and he said it was nothing to even worry about and fixed it up for me for $350 and said its good as new and that you lot were trying to screw me telling me the car isnt worth it.

Ill take some photos and put them up

I said you were dishonest pretending you had never seen it before. I talked to another forum member who travelled up from Adelaide to see you prior to me who also pointed out the structual rust to you.

I also said it would cost thousands to fix correctly...so the rust doesn't come back and structual integrity is retained. When they rust from the inside out I feel your $350 will be a temp fix only. I hope the repair was with metal rather than bog.... The firewall and A pillar are not places I would want weak in an accident. May look great 'now'.

I for one am thankful to have seen it before it was 'repaired'

    • All of your suspension bushes/bolts etc, should also only ever be tightened when the car is sitting with full weight too.   IE, jack it back up, shove a heap of stuff down so you can lower the wheels onto so the car is "on the ground" but you have room to get under it.   It's why when properly done, you should be able to remove the shock and spring, but the arms won't go to 100% droop. If you don't do the above, you'll destroy your bushes.

    • These arrived today! Sadly I'm going to probably be smart and enjoy the car as is over the summer/sunny period and save the ~2 weeks downtime it'd take to swap the heads over and tune later in the year. Maybe. It's going to be pretty damn tempting seeing these bolt on funs just sitting in storage when they're ready to go. There's a non-zero chance I end up @The Bogan'ing it.
