Saw this a while ago and it makes my nur look like nothing. Guess that what happens when you compare something stock and something with high quality mods and beautiful aesthetics

Congrats on the car. Best thing you could ever do.

Congrats on car bro.. Looks great... but I reckon you need a lower Profile Rear-wing, Unless you are going to race it..

you must have won the lotto or made some good investment :(

I just bought something pretty darn sexy from a well known Stuttgart manufacturer and this makes me wonder.........if......I.......should.......have......

Congratulations. Very well done.

Also how the hell did The Baron get this car complied with all those mods!!!!! When I imported mine, the compliancer had to even remove the Xenons to get compliance. Had I known I would have imported a Mines car or something like that from say Global GTR from the very beginning.

I am sure if if youe were to buy all those individual items that are now on your car, it would add up very easily to 50-60k in parts alone. Bargain if you paid a reasonable price for your car!!

Would love to know how he got this car complied too. Saw this car in person outside one of the car workshops few months ago. It looked really nice!!

profile update!!

Very nice man! Gorgeous and a great stack of mods.

I was wondering what you would get after the GTT :)

thanks mate. You have one of the best 33's on here, hands down - if i didn't go the R i would have serious started contemplating building up my 34 more the way you've gone.

Beautiful NUR Daniel! I had been wondering when you would get hold of your dream BNR34.

The mods are certainly top shelf stuff! I like those Alcons in particular and all the suspension tuning. Let's not mention the HKS 2530s. However, I wonder whether your loud exhaust and all those highly conspicuous under the bonnet mods would eventually attract the wrong police attention....

Should definitely catch up. I would love to check out your car in person.

Dammit I missed the Show and Shine!

Cheers

Matt

It's definitely not in keeping with some of the established Australian tuning philosophy, that's for sure :) but Midori did build a time attack car that could best the Mines car on occasion around Tsukuba, so they must have some idea what they're doing :)

The titan exhaust is definitely louder than the GTT, took some getting use to but it's ok now - i really don't think it would be illegal under normal testing conditions. Would be interesting to compare to the Racepace exhaust.

If i can find a 34 R airbox that doesn't cost a zillion dollars, i might try and do a back to back comparison. Pods prob weren't my first choice but i know these guys have been at GTR's for a long time, so i trust their judgement. I'm sure i'm bound to fiddle :) but this was how she was built, so i'll just enjoy it like this for a little while.

we got some of the Midori receipts, and the owner certainly put down the $ that's for sure. Better him than me! hahah

It's still no HKS Step 2 RB28 Vcam Matt, let's not forget that! In the hands of some handy drivers, would be interesting to see whether all the suspension work on mine is able to make up for the power/torque difference around a track - i'd prob think highly unlikely, but would be an interesting test none-the-less

yessss..... such a shame you weren't there............ :)

Sorry to hijack, SS8_Gohan, but what car did you get Mr LotusGTR ?

that's alright, i'm interested too! :)

compliance wasn't cheap, obviously a decent whack of labour involved and required patience... just looking over some of the bills for this thing. I wouldn't undertake the exercise lightly if doing it again. Compliance was $$ but still presented some decent value i thought at the end of the day, although not all might see it that way

Don't change the wing! I love those high ones! Very time attack.

you'll never catch me banner....... no you wont...........wont....

yes I helped the D-man import his car which is no doubt a one in a million car. as far as how the baron complied it? That's the barons business :P but it's all above board of course. just takes a bit of extra dough and a bit of patience and a bit of effort but for the right car it's worthwhile. :) don't expect to rock up with your off it's nuts GTR and then expect someone to comply it for $2K for you. be prepared to pay the right money and you get the right work.

Plus daniels car is not actually too extreme on the eye, either outside of under the bonnet. Like he said a few little changes like an airbox and... well that's about it, and it would look very standard. There's some shiny stuff here and there and the massive Alcons are a bit of a give-away but there is no massive single turbs, it's not super loud (but my standards it's super quiet), and it DOES have a cat (proper one too).

anyone thinking of importing an off it's tits race car as a road car think again, but a car like this is a bit different. for starters it meets sevs requirements in all aspects in that it has zero rust, zero structural repair, no roll cage etc. it had some serious mods but none that were not reversible for import and compliance if need be. :) it retained original engine block etc all numbers match. it's a legit car with some nice gear. :)

and like tangomatt said (and I know daniel doesn't really brag or make a big deal of it) but there is easily $60K in parts on it (that alcon kit alone from midori is over $15k) and that's just parts. about the same cost again in labour to have it all done and tuned etc so it does represent good value for money buying a car like that. but the main point is dan love it and it's such a cool car. everyone I know who has seen it reckons it's about the best, most complete GTR they've seen and being a genuine 1 owner NUR makes it all the more special.

if anyone wants one like it you are welcome to talk to me and I may be able to help you out. don't expect a 1 owner, midori built, VII nur to pop up any time soon though! but there are always special cars still in japan looking for homes. :)

yes we have argued over the wing for many nights even when the car was still in japan! it was one of the first things that daniel wanted to change and at first I was un-decided by as soon as I saw the car in the flesh with TE37s and the nismo side skirts and the dry carbon wing extensions I was in love. they really complete the package nicely and give the car an awesome stance. it just gives that tiny little bit of toughness to it. and dan will know but from memory they are about $1000 a pair!!! genuine midori made and in dry carbon.

change the $ to GBP (pounds) and you're about on the money - they were low-mid $2000 - which i think is about equivalent to what Mines want for their uprights

    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 馃
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
