Overdrive Fault Revs Changing Anyone Know What The Fault Is?

Hey i have R33 series 2, auto when i put overdrive on and keep a steady speed over 70kph the revs drop by a hundred or 2 and then goes back up to normal. This was happening every few minutes but is now happening every 10 seconds? Mates have said maybe trans service or do timing kit. I think theres just something wrong with the overdrive, because the car runs fine with it off. If i take the overdrive off theres no change with revs. I have tried with and without air con and problem is still there. Does anyone know what the problem is?

might be worth checking the level of the fluid in the transmission. it may be getting a bit low.

^+1 as 9/10 auto trans problems are fluid related in my experience.

If not, try checking your coolant temp sensor readings for fluctuations as this will make the car drop in and out of over-drive intermittently.
