i have a small tranny cooler from super shit in my return line, works well. before that the pump used to start cavitating on hot days after half an hour or so of light driving, now it takes a really really hot day for it to do it.

Where did you mount it?

Thought about that, it makes the filling of the surge tank even more critical because if the tuner is able to push it all harder and the turbos aren't maxed out yet then something has to happen with the lift pump aswel so where does it end

Bigger feed pumps will help outright power of course, Paul and I are both hoping that 2x 044's are enough to max out GTRS's on e85 :(

Good thing for me is that his tune will be before mine (his is booked for tuesday) so if it doesn't work for him I've got the chance to fix the problem on mine quickly :)

Im about to start playing with E85 myself but only running a gt35r, nothing as big as some of you guys.

Will 2x 044s be sufficient enough to get the maximum out of my turbo? rb30 as well.

Also what do people recommend for fittings and lines to make sure the smell of fuel is avoided? i understand if you buy generic it tends to leak the smell out. And what type of lines should i be using for e85?

Oh and how big of a surge tank do ppl recommend?

I have a GT35R (soon to be GTX) and i have 2x044s, no way will i max them, even with 2bar of boost.

To avoid the smell completely you will need to mount the fuel system under the car.

I replaced all standard rubber lines with braided stuff and used speedflow fittings.

I recommend a good quality washable fuel filter.

My surge tank is about 3L capacity.

Have u detected even the faintest smell of fuel?

Reading on prev posts do you feel that your 3L surge is adequate?

How much did the complete replacement of lines set you back? Cars going in tomorrow ans wanna get the ball rolling asap.

As i have my system in the boot, yes there is a smell of E85.

E85 smell is easy to live with though while driving. I actually like it lol

Not really sure on the cost of the lines themselves as the whole system was done all at once. Budget $1000 for them.

A fuel system will cost more than you budget for, it isn't as simple as it sounds

Dave if you push that turbo really hard (eg like numbers we spoke about yesterday but more psi) you may find the limit. I got an autometer fuel pressure gauge, it's got a 30psi warning sound and light-well worth the $79 :ermm:

Uve got 2 subs in the boot so want to avoid any serious fuel system in there. At the same time if I mount it all externally I don't want to smell anyfuel. I understand increased diameter fuel lines are prob a good thing along with proven fittings to avoid any smell.

I just got my hands on a tome type L fuel reg along with 1000cc inj + greedy fuel rail.

Just trying to guage how much braided lines would cost to replace all the rubber stuff. If any distributors are reading this please contact me as I am ready Togo with cash. Just need to know a number to make sure I'm wing realistic.

Any advice from SAU'erz would ve most appreciated as well

Has anyone had any experience with Teflon coated lines? I understand these are one of the few lines that can cope with e85, as others die over time.

Id be hoping for a bit higher than 445rwkw with the GTX. Somewhere around the 480rwkw mark i think is achievable at 2bar :D

Well the pump is off the car. We (I) forgot to put one of the crush washers on the line side of the pump and had that little leak. Rookie head...... muck around with fuel pumps.... or lay on the lounge with a beer and watch the V8 Stupid cars.... hmmm :ermm:
