Hey there.

before i start i've searched around cant really find what i was looking for.

looking at buying a haltech but unsure if i wanna spend the 2k for the new series. there are allot of the 11v2's kicking around for sale, but what puts me off is the lack of knock control, however in my searches i've found people running them for 4 years no hickups. im not very ecu illiterate, but car will be used for street, drift, sprints etc any motorsport event i can enter ill be there, so i want something decent.

whats the story with knock control, haltech obviously didnt have it for a reason?

also can i remove aac valve, as im sure its got cold start / idle features.

i do want the following

- no afm

- wire in

- future install of racepak dash or similar product.

any help would be good.

peace

The E11v2 is a great ECU and you wont even use all its features for what you are intending to use the car for.

As for knock control, any decent tuner wont go anywhere near the point where the engine starts to ping.

Ive had mine for 2 years with no issue. The new 2000s are basically the same as the E11v2 anyway.

thanks dave.

what about going the model down? or not worth it, stick with the 11.2?

whats the compatibility with a racepak - the non data-loging version.

able to remove AAC?

peace

will it run without AAC, mines not 100% and rather block it then buy another one.

if its a track car block it all off, can always drill a small hole near the butterfly shaft to get a rock solid idle (do not drill too far from centre of butterfly).

For a street car i like the AAC, pwr steer load idle up etc...
