turbo flutter on 180SX's

oooh... ok, i'm starting to understand now...

yeah, i knew the car wouldn't work without the AFM, but you can take the AFMs off and change the computer setup so the car doesn't need an AFM or MAS (MAPS?)... I was talking to the guys at UAS about it, they knew what i meant and explained it to me....

ive got an rb25det in my gts, it has the stock bov on it, and a day ago i blocked it off and im geting heaps of flutter on a stock r33 cooler soon to be upgrated to a gtr item. as for car stalling and backfiring. im getting neither. car is running exactly the same, gearchanges are very identicle mayb a slight difference but you dont notice. alot of people say it shortens the life of the turbo. by how much will it shorten it by?

Yeah, i think it's the same as saying "reving your car past 5 grand will shorten it's engine life"... very minimal difference... but i'm no expert....

hmmm, yea, I've got a 180sx, and I've just taken off my BOV. It used to make a pop once in a while, very rarely, and not too loud. Now that the BOV is off, i haven't heard that sound yet, but haven't really gotten much chance to drive it. Also, how do you make flutter louder lol? steel pipes? mmm shiny =P

Yeah, a FMIC and replacing the intake pipe with a steel item will both make it louder...

and how does the FMIC make it louder?! dude, just get a pod filter and you will hear it, thats all you need.

FMIC extends the flutter as there is more air that has to go back thru the pipes, and yes a steel intake pipe will make the echo louder.

my car makes the flutter only just when i installed my pod. before it wasnt doing it. had no probs with stalling or back firing. i havea n afta market bov and intercooler and safc.. is it bad? should i get my standrad bov working again.
