I've been scouting for a catback system for my M35. Planning to get Scotty to make everything from the dump to the Cat and get an aftermarket catback system.

Been emailing Jesse Streeter lots and looks like I can get the Blitz Nur Touring or the Kakimoto R for around the same price delivered. So the question is - which one is better?

I don't want something that's too loud during idle/regular driving. Sure, if its lound when I floor it that's nice...

Neither will be "too loud", but the Blitz will be quieter by a fair bit.

I didn't think that Jesse could ship exhausts due to the box being over 1.5m long (unless you are prepared to wait for his container to ship).

I know that RHDJapan/Bidjdm, Import Monster and Nengun can ship any cat-backs that you want from Japan - either new or via Yahoo Auctions.

For a quick comparison, check out the M35 Aftermarket Exhaust thread I put together sometime ago.

Jess said he can cut the exhaust and I can have it welded back togather. Both Scotty and Jesse confirms that there is no performance loss - just aesthetics...

The thing with Import Monster and Nengun is that for LESS then their sea freight price, I can have the exhaust at my doorstep from Jesse in 1 weeks time. Not that I'm in a hurry, but IM and Nengun prices are higher then Jesse.

Jesse also mentioned that anything IM sends via containers have no insurance or tracking. So I guess its choosing between cheaper/faster/cut exhaust or more $$$/slower/non cut exhaust...

Yeah, you won't have any performance loss.

Or you could look at the Blitz through RHD.

I don't know what Jesse has quoted you for either, but the Blitz is pretty good value... although it will cost you about $400 in shipping.

Jess can get me the Blitz or the Kakimoto R for a tad under $1k posted to me via EMS. bloody IM was around $1280 and that's pickup from Bayswater. RMS was $1280 also. Waiting for Just Jap to get back to me re the Blitz...

Hmm just checked RHD Japan - Jess is still cheaper - 50560 yen for the Blitz before any fees/shipping vs 61k Yen

Oh...are those Raizer mufflers listed in your exhaust page any good?

They are only mufflers, not a full cat-back system.

But they are very good quality and give unique notes (depending on design) from what I have read.

I know, just thought I would give you some other options you may not have looked into, but the 61,000Y from RHD includes all fees (but not shipping), so make sure you factor in Jesse's fees when comparing unit prices.

Jesse is awesome to deal with and if you are willing to have the exhaust cut to fit in a box, there is no reason why you wouldn't got through him.

All the quotes Ive received from Jesse include his commission/fees, so that shouldnt be an issue. Cant speak highly enough of the service he offers, its first class.

Agree 100%, but as Ironpaw stated above, the 50560Y that Jesse quoted was exclusive of fees/commission.

Yep - inclusive of everything (fees/shipping) it comes to $980 AUD delivered.

The RHD Jap was about 770 before shipping...so unless shipping is 200 bux then it aint gonna be cheaper.

Ok next question is - ground clearance. The Kaki looks like it'll scrap easy...any input from user's who's got it installed?

performance wise are they pretty much the same?

Dunno what the performance difference would be, but I am sure they would all differ slightly due to their pipe/muffler designs.

RHD shipping is $412 express (same week delivery), so no, not cheaper - but it is uncut

I was looking at the Kakimoto R last year when I had a kakimoto 80mm de-cat front pipe and also felt it sat a bit low.

Having seen both, the Blitz does sit up a bit higher than the Kaki.

I'm pretty sure bbenny has the kaki on his wagon, maybe try him for some info?

I've got the kakimoto.. With standard 17" rims and bilstein suspension.. All I ever do is try to avoid scraping.. It's so damn low!! The main prob is the long wheel base the stag has.

However the performance is good the sound is quite nice not to loud when cruising which is needed when

My Wife drives the car!!

I like it but need to source some springs and run bigger rims after that it will be perfect.

LOL ok - in that case I'm going Blitz then!!! Can't afford full exhaust + rims + coilovers all at once!

Remember to factor in the highflow, you may need it one day soon. (and then the Emanage, injectors, intake...........) :P

Ive got the Kakimoto also.

To be honest I have found any problems with scraping. Its the same under the car as the stock - the only bit that is lower is the tip, Ive scraped that a few times, but nothing bad.

My brother has the Fujitsubo Legalis on his. I think its a much neater looking exhaust and the tip sits nice and high. But my car is faster and the only difference is exhaust! so maybe it flows better... Mine definitely sounds better :P

Haha, and the driver.... and possibly a different ecu depending on build dates (there were 4 or 5 different RS ecu's so I assume there would have to be improvements made the later the build :P )
