Local Transport in melb

Having car troubles at the moment, so instead of driving down to melb from Sydney this weekend, im considering flying.

Relying on public transport, how difficult would i find it to commute between Carlton North and Fitzroy (Occasionally Parkville)???

Oh and in 2-3 weeks will be looing for accomodation until mid June so if anyone needs a flatmate

They're not too far apart actually.. generally trams would be best that side of town and should get you between those places pretty quickly.

ps - best not to bring your car to this area.. in 2 weeks i had my drivers side hit by a bike rider, and pass side smashed in to steal some burnt cds.

Oops, person who is putting me up for the first few weeks doesnt even have a garage! Car might have to stay in Sydney, especially since its running badly at the moment, and it would see i can make do without it

trams are the way to go in the carlton fitzroy area

They're really only 1 suburb away from each other. I used to live in Fitzroy North. Good area, nice and laid back Trams will certainly be your best friend.

depending where you are on station st and where you have to get to on Johnson St it could be a 5min walk or 35min walk...

Exactly, i agree with Dave.

You could walk everywhere.

probably faster than waiting for trams these days anways. They are never on time. they run thier own timetables
