Would love to help out by supplying an s14 but mine is off the road for a while.

If you get them happening, how much would I be looking at for a bolt in half cage and what is the cost of a weld in half?

I had a look at the weld ins in your gallery, how much more space generally is there around the b pillars and roof for your bolt in jobs?

All cages are the best possible fit. They require the pillar trims and preferably roof lining to be removed. Unlike alot of cages which are bent up to keep those trims resulting in a terrible fit.

The way I do them if there is more than 5mm gap down the B pillar, 20mm gap up the B pillar/seat belt mount area and a 5mm gap up the roof bends then its a dud hoop.

I used to buy pre bent stuff which was average but for a while now ive been doing my own instead of just doing it the cheap and easy way.

Yeah I do.

This is the basic kit fitted. Just excuse the crappy old mountings from the horrid Half cage I cut out. Its yet to be welded to mountings and the rest of the old half cage cut right out with the plasma.

To save the owner a few bucks Ive used some old stock CDS which had some light surface rust, it will clean right off with steel wool but I cant send a cage out bent from it, looks a tad rude..

Front section, uses a new dash bar which has the old coloum mounting re welded back on. Can see how nicely the front leg follows the a Pillar. This was an auto bended cage too

The rear section. Id rather supply with enough material for a full X hoop but customers request on this one. Harness bar, rear diagonal etc included.

Everything is supplied pre bent and ready to be knotched and welded. All lengths are a bit more than needed to facilitated knotching and the drop saw method if it gets stuffed up the first time.

Like I said this exact cage was bent completely then fitted. It required no addidional bending or tweaking, just some messing around with position to get the dash bar to work in the original place. Its neat though.

Price for that cage will be $1200 plus delivery supplied with mounting plates in CDS or CDW mild steel.

anyone with some decent fabrication skills could fit it.

The rear legs require the rear fire wall to be cut away so they can be opted directly to the strut tower.

Not overly keen about weld in cages going to the wheel arch, bolt in cages are easier to do that way.

I'll take a few photos when I get out to the car next of the final mounts.

Will organize to get that s13 from you in the next week or so Dave.

Thats the S13 half bolt in cage with two optional rear leg supports.

Its worth mentioning these cages are a direct fit there is no need to cut them or join anything. However they do require a plate to be welded onto the floor pan ontop of the rear seat step for the hoop to be bolted to.

The plates have M8 captive nuts welded to them and provide a very good base for the hoop as opposed to bolting through the thin sheet metal floor pan.

Its not just a cage strength thing but also does alot more for the chassis when bolted to a plate thats welded to a decent part of the original vehicle.

The rear legs require 3 holes to be drilled.

The other major advantage these cages have is latter on its very easy to convert them to a full cage and weld it to the chassis without having to replace what you have already due to poor "bolt in" fitment or clamp together designs.

The rear halves are almost identical to the full cage kits besides slight mounting points around the B pillar and rear legs, nothing thats too drastic to work around.

The R32 cage I have currently can retain the roof lining trim the S13 requires removal. All rear trims need to be removed to fit any of the cages I build. A few people decide to cut the trims and fit them back in.

Early this year ill be paying the SAU traders fee and be advertising them, currently I dont go looking for people I only take on the jobs that come to me.

Nice work Brad. A good friend of mine just got a full cage for his VL by a well known workshop. It was very average and the car had to go back a number of times. And it wasnt cheap to start with.

If the 33 goes track only ill give you a buzz.

Sounds like his had a hard time with it!

Prices have been getting higher and higher lately, alot of the shops around the area who do chassis work are charging a fortune.

I'm about 95% of the way through an massive R33 cage currently which I did a quick ring around to get an idea what the going rate is for such a cage ( I know what it's worth but what is being charged is another thing) I was shocked at some of the rough quotes I was told.
