MJTru
I usually get rid or block off the pcv vlave. I run two number 12an fittings off the top of my valve covers to a catch tank with a breather filter on top. I have noticed no oil in the can. I dont like the pcv working because it makes the intake so dirty. My setup has always worked providing the engine does not have excessive blow by. AMR33
Guys, I've read this thread and the other ones and still confused about how to mount catch can in my series 2 r33. So many methods and Im simply lost. Can someone please provide a few clear photos on how this is done effectively, the kit they used (inclding fittings etc) please? Also, what if the catch can is one that can be opened to put steel wool or whatever in it to act as baffle (like the kits JJ sell), are they still ok and effective? Keen on getting one on before heading onto the track. Much appreciated guys Cheers Amir Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/345545-oil-catch-canpcv-setups/page/4/#findComment-7379971 Share on other sites
KerrodR33
My catch tank made by a user on here. Blocked pcv vent to Atmo style. Push in fittings to the cam covers with speedflow fittings Edited September 1, 2014 by KerrodR33 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/345545-oil-catch-canpcv-setups/page/4/#findComment-7379986 Share on other sites

XKLABA
The rb25 PCV is attached to cam cover, does it have some sort of shielding to stop oil spraying on it ? AMR33
Thanks guys. So both those methods have the intended effect? Do you guys have steel wool in the catch can? Kerrod, any chance you can post up a pic from the passenger side looking towards the intake plenum? Cheers for the help Amir Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/345545-oil-catch-canpcv-setups/page/4/#findComment-7380307 Share on other sites

AMR33
Cheers mate. So you just have two hoses from the rocker covers going to the catch can and thats it. Is that effective enough? KerrodR33
Yep that's what I have done. Have to block off the pcv on the the cam cover to do it this way though Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/345545-oil-catch-canpcv-setups/page/4/#findComment-7380819 Share on other sites
AMR33
Alright thanks mate. One more question, is your catch can baffled or is it hollow inside? AMR33
Does steel wool last though? How long have you had it in there for? No problems with it getting sucked up into the motor? AMR33
Wait, is it the cleaning stuff like "scrub buds"????? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/345545-oil-catch-canpcv-setups/page/4/#findComment-7380841 Share on other sites
89CAL
Not sure if its in this thread or another one, but someone has mentioned wrapping the steel wool in a good quality stocking to stop it from seperating. Alternatively just buy a baffled catch can. Mine is baffled, havent had an issue yet. Doesnt appear to have burnt a drop of oil Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/345545-oil-catch-canpcv-setups/page/4/#findComment-7381565 Share on other sites
