Thanks for the luck Stuart :D

It all comes down to "show me the money" with what we will end up with.

There has been so much going on since Homebush, that it changes many times each day.

Alot of AWD's are faster in 2WD.........and that may mean allowing the Motec or whatever switching to FWD or RWD at various points on a track, depending on the circuit of course.

In Prod cars, alot of teams think FWD is faster in there AWD's.

Well lets hope we are both right , as we just acquired an ex SBR AU.

This year will be a bit quite - hope to catch up with you in the AU or the 33 thru the year.

At the moment Karen and I will be doing mixed events in both cars.

Cheers

oooooh more details on the ex SBR AU Stu?

Hi Evil

Chasis no 4 was Blue, now Black.

Going for a play Monday 31st, Tuesday 1st coming - planning on a fairly quiet set up year, playing with tyres, and stuff - November will see a 5999cc stroker to hopefully go and play in 2012

Cheers

Hi evil , First test at wakefield went ok ,only got about 21 lap myself all day , had some small issues, diff oil leak and a lazy shock - but ended up with a PB for car and self.

Less than a second off record, some decent tyres and a little bit of sorting - totally looking forward to some time in the car

Cheers

This is the record on their website

V8 Supercars

Driver: Steve Owen

Holden VZ 6/04/2008 59.0391

I'm pretty sure their website is out of date. They've run quicker than that.

59.03 is the record.

Qualifying times never count for records, as it must be done during the race.

I don't think Stuart would have done sub 60's on his first go. I am guessing 63's?

Ahh ok, makes sense.

Then again i doubt Stuart was racing?

Anyway 58.4 for a qualifier and 59 flat racing, cool.

The last 6 laps of the day, times are

1.02.894

1.00.686

1.00.072

1.00.032

1.00.134

1.07.260 (cool down)

Best Minimum Rolling in that sesion was a 59.871 (point to point not beacon to beacon)

Motec Data @ 4.10.52PM 1/2/2011 Wakefield Park

Hi Duncan

Heres a picture.

No - not racing, tyres are 2 years old, had suspension and wheel alignment issue now sorted - can't wait to give the 11 year old car another go

Cheers

Boz we did 63's first outing in the GTR R33 at Wakefield on AO50's - full trim and rego, why would you bother purchasing an old supercar to do the same.

Stuart,

Good luck.

Thanks Ducan,

Settlilng to car and budget this year, chase a couple of sponsors, and hopefully play next year.

Got a heap of spare tyres with the car, thanks to Terry - gunna use these for settle in period and see if we can use some D11 Dunlops for qualifying times.

Cheers

    • We have 2x Swifts and my plans for a Swift, unfortunately, do not extend to an intake and an exhaust. I've been having dirty thoughts about a 2.5L Suzi V6, AWD gearbag out of a suitable donor, rear floorpan graft to take the rear cradle from same, and either trumpets of evil or a small supercharger. If I'm going to make noise in a Swift, I want it to be anti-social, evil handling and rough. Probably need to be fully stripped inside, matt black paint, plastic windows, 7" wide wheels, big brakes, silly suspension, etc etc etc. I have no idea if any of the proposed driveline components could take the pain. But it would be a hoot finding out.
    • Really, anyone modifying a car isn't being financially smart. We're doing it for the things we love. And honestly, a high revving, light, NA car is actually pretty darn fun. I used to have a Swift Sport, and I miss that thing as a daily, and yes, doing something like some intake and exhaust stuff would have made minimal gains, but would have bought an even bigger smile
