Hey Keir, you probably won't get a really positive response to that in this section of the forum.

Personally, I don't think its some of your best work, we all get grief at some point driving imports, because of the "guilt by association" reputation they have. This is EXACTLY how it happens. I like a burnout as much as the next guy, but faark, in the street? Youtube? How original. Great piece of footage for Today Tonight's next "Import Driving Hoons" story.

I'll be honest with you, if you did that in my street; I'd tell you to piss off and take it to a track. If I saw you do it again, I'd be giving your rego to the police.

We all have a responsibility to think a little bit about this kind of thing, otherwise, the cars, and the lifestyle we love will be taken away by simpering, sooky, politicians looking for an easy vote. Then you'll be driving a bloody Camry wondering how it all went so wrong.

That said, hope the rebuild goes well, looking forward to seeing some pics of it ON A TRACK!

this was in the back quarter of an industrial area in the middle of the night in a dead end street. he spent 30 minutes trying to find the most out of the way place on location on a return test drive.. my mate couldnt help himself.

daleo - fair call i cant understand where your coming from. - it was reckless..

i actually wasnt driving. :whistling:

was the first night we got it boosting right.. and my mate decided he was keen to see if it could finally boost a burnout.

its actually from weeks ago i wasnt going to post it but thought it was amusing. :)

i shouldve gone with my first hunch and not posted this.. heh

This took on a bit of a life of its own eh?

I'm the first to admit to some monumentally stupid car behaviour in the past, some of the other posts give the impression they've never done a skid.

You won't get any more criticism from me.

Get going on that rebuild.

Cheers, Dale

The fact that this is "in the back quarter of an industrial area in the middle of the night in a dead end street" is no excuse - it's still on the street and as has been said, it's videos and posts like these that bring a bad name to the whole car community, especially Skylines.

    • Thought I’d post pics of the packages for those interested. The premium package is #16. Remote start, security with tilt sensor and remote and backup battery, auto fold mirrors and door illumination.    Can post up pics of all the factory options and images from the factory options brochure if people are interested. I have all the dealer books etc for all rv37 models.
    • After its dried out Penetrol is you friend to treat rust and seal up those seams
    • Thanks Paul.   i have Friends at Nissan. Acquiring and attempting an instal is no issue. Getting the system isn’t a problem, I’ll get it direct from Nissan Japan over Nissan Australia anyway. Cheaper and quicker!  Do these mates get it working or is it just acquiring?   Interested to know what was required to get it functioning if that’s what your meaning.    An importer/dealer just sold one near me with remote start installed and working, and a believe they do their own compliance. But it still needs to pass the pits so that’s interesting reagrdin legalities. I know Vf commodores have it so assumed the modern skylines must meet aust standards.
    • Getting the remote start is a pain. My local Nissan can do it but it's not allowed to do it. Something about remote start rules regulations in Aus. The Nissan one doesn't tick all the boxes. I think the only way is having a friend that works at a Nissan service centre to do it for on the sly. But that's impossible because people who work at our local Nissan service don't make friends because they are always screwing everyone over
