To start off... if you want to tell me how dumb it is fitting a 215 on a 9j I really don't care...

I'm interested in knowing if anyone has fitted a 215/40 to a 9j wide rim and/or if a 215/45 would be a better option?

Also im aware different tyres stretch more or less than others, i.e. Falkens stretch more than Federals. So what type of tyres would you recommend using for this kind of stretch? ps. this is for my front two wheels.

IMHO for your fronts get some decent rubber, especially as you will only have 215's

fwiw i run 235/45/17 nitto NT05 on a 9.5" for the fronts and 235/40/18 kuhmo KU36 rear on a 10" out back

Yer good idea..

I currently have 235/40/18 federal 595SS on the rear of a 10" also.

I'm pretty set on the 215/40/18s.. just need to figure out what tyres i want.

Anyone know how falken ze-912s go (in terms of both stretch capability and grip)?

Well, you should. There is a reason why tyres come with a recommended rim width, which for a 215 is 7 - 8.5 inch.

Glad you're in the Gong - means there's little chance of meeting you on the road.

theres always one

205 is too small, from what you are saying i think you only want stretch coz it looks cool, the whole point of it is to get the wheels to fit if the offset is too large

no point going smaller and smaller tyre if its un needed

ahh yer no I'm not going stretch to look cool... I need it because I'm running a 18x9 +0 up the front...

Im running 215/40 Bridgestone RE001's up front 17x9.5 -2

Just seen pics... looks very nice

As for the fitment, I've tried to ghetto newspaper flare my guards which has given me a bit more clearance along with camber... I think its down to tyres now haha
