this place is arguably the best knowledge website for RB performance in the world.

plenty have made around 300rwkw(400hp) on stock motors, that's pretty much the limit and best compromise for power/lag as well given most are street/daily driven.

we looking for people who has made over it and its reliable

so far i haven t seen one person post up proof of it.........

PM me in maybe two weeks or so and I'll hopefully have gotten my act together and sent my car in for tuning. By all accounts I should be making a pretty easy 400+rwhp on a stock 25 with very good response.

Get your act together, or scroll up the page and log the f**k out.

I made 394.8rwhp (294.4rwkw) on 15.9psi of boost on a 100% internally standard unopened series 1 RB25DET, assembled in 1993. This was running a restrictive ceramic cat converter. I can guarantee you since I've bashed that cat out my boost curve holds all the way to red line, and I would be exceeding 400rwhp.

What R31Nismoid is trying to tell you is have a look at the RB25 dyno thread there are 30+ pages of peoples results!

Not to mention just running a search in this section.

You are going to get much better results doing this than simply sitting here and waiting for everyone to hand you every bit of info.

^^^ exactly we alone have more than a handful making that power on std engines.... one is on the hoist atm with a broken gearbox.. so if you add up all the shops were talking alot of cars making over that hp....

400rwhp is about "the limit" for more reasons that just outright stregnth.

You have to understand the basic dynamics as I said. People with stock motors fit the following:

1. Generally drive the cars daily.

2. Do not want to rebuild @ a cost of 6-10k and indefinite time off road. Overall setup is budget limited.

3. They want good response and 400rwhp(280-300rwkw) is the "sweet" spot for power vs response and turbos like the 2835 or 3071/3076 fit in nicely

4. Don't want tyre frying monsters

You will not find "proof" of "many" people over 400rwhp/PULP/stock motor - because people don't want to push that fair as per above reasoning.

If you want more than 400rwhp generally people are racing and therefore go chasing 500rwhp or MORE. There is no middle ground there and it seems to jump markedly.

Read the dyno results thread you would see this for yourself.

FYI, I used to have a built 370rwkw RB25 back in '05/'06 :)

As it stands, you have a cheap truck turbo that is worse than a old t04. If you put a decent turbo on there your lazy 400rwhp car would turn into one of the fastest 400rwhp cars around simply because the average power would be ridiculously improved.

If you want more than 400rwhp, then just get a GTX3076, E85, you should see 350rwkw easily enough.

Ensure you have adequate money set aside for the rebuild. As it will die, its just a question of when.

Yup, one batch of bad fuel, a missed shift one day.. anything could kill it as its stretched to it limits.

My cars been at 480rwhp stock internals for over 2 years and loving it. Nismoid has his P.O.V. which is fine (that 400rwhp are the 25's max), i have seen plenty of results to dispute that but each to their own. And yes PULP is not the way to go for reliablilty imo E85 FTW

what kind of dyno did u do 480 on? and if ur from australia do u have quarter mile mph to back up the power?

thats y u nismo guys need to add lean cut to ur fuel managment!

this is a feature we use on the hondata s300

how it works is we set it up to lean cut at 11.7 a/f after 5psi of boost

so lets say one injector dies or u run outta gas it will cut just like boost cut :(

Yep, can be set up with most ECU's that accept a wideband input I'd assume.

r serious about the turbos

look at the two video s i provided

the car with a stock rb26 with stock turbos has a bad ass powerband-

on the other hand the car with the hc1 makes 30 more hp-

-now the badass power band will win rite

not...........the laggy hc1 turbo pulls so much harder and killed the rb26 (we raced them)

if u as me anything under a gt40 is too small for a 6 cylinder when a 4 banger with 1.6liter can spind the shit outta it!

mate if you think peak power is the be all and end all and you JUST want to drag race, then good luck to ya.

i prefer a car that's fast in the hills and on the street, which peak power and poor response serves little purpose as area 'under the graph' is king.

look at our honda motors

a b20 is the thinest sleeves and people would crack the sleeves at 7-9lbs of boost......

for years thats what everyone though...

-now after our test we have quit a few of them at over 20-psi with 400+whp(stock block!)

-from this i say since a stock honda block with tiny rods and weak rod bolts can take 100hp per cylinder

why can t a rb25 factory turbo motor take 100whp per cylinder.......
