The silencer should have two settings (you can rotate a plate inside).

On both settings, you will get a power restriction and you probably won't want to boost it too hard beyond standard boost levels (due to the exhaust restriction)...

I'm pretty much in the same boat with my x-force exhaust. It's well over legal limits without the silencer, but with the silencer, there's too much of a restriction. I'm thinking I may just see an exhaust specialist and see what they recommend (diffferent muffler, additional muffler, etc)

I'd definitely suggest this route is the right way to go rather than fitting a silencer, as a silencer just means exhaust restriction.

yes a silencer will cause restriction and a loss of power.

you could get a custom silencer made up with a bigger pipe through the centre to allow more flow but it won't make the exhaust as quiet. the other option would be to scrap the cannon and get an oval muffler. they generally provide much better sound attenuation.

yep, thats pretty much what im thinking about.

just the silencer is a cheap way to go.

anyway, things has the value

ive got one on my r33 (was on their when i purchsed it)

if you get the remote controlled one, youll find it buggers up after a while, the battery connection for the remote suck, comes loose and youll find it hard to adjust the valve inside.

i've left mine open, cant be bothered with the remote any more, they do go quite though when shut, for long drives to have no drone makes for a good drive after a while

good luck either way
