Pft Sif. Actually you know why that is? Because your tur-boss isn't fast enough. You need NOS. And a steering wheel button.

Ahh is this the nerd shots you did with my AB's?

Hahahaa wow. Didn't think you meant this nerdy but hahaha.

Would be even more epic if you had a hair light to show his slick rick hair. 2 lights FTL  I want a 3rd!

sad thing is there was no diffuser on that light ;) just a car sunshade thing to stop the camera picking up the trails... For what I know I could have messed up with the white balance adjustment aswell or the metering... Im pretty keen to get out there and do it again... but take with me something to piss the orange light off with haha

cheers for the tip though :)

Might have to borrow my mates 14-2X mm lens :)

Also props to GTRSEAN for helping with the light painting :) I painted in the lights and he did the cars was a bit of fun and experimenting

Calendar of him, would be epic. Although not a sight to behold!

I think Matts point is, it doesn't matter what lens your using, it matters how you light.

I think the lens your talking about is the Nikon 14-24 2.8. Good lens.

White balance is a bit cool, but thats expected because your using a LED light. Metering is to no avail here because you can't meter accurately enough as you are not providing constant light (e.g. flashing or strobing) and it looks pitch black where you were so the meter will be wrong and it will tell you to go longer than 30secs.

Light painting is about experimenting and finding the settings correct for you. The Camera couldn't of helped you out in this case.

The more you do the better you will get at it.

You're right about that... but using the 18 - 55mm DX lens on an FX camera...

The next step I think will be to get a remote trigger release for the camera so I can do the bulb setting... Having that orange light there didnt help with painting the cars as it created its own ghosting of us and sloanes car being silver reflected light away from the camera as opposed to the white cars ;)

So got any tips on painting silver cars? aside from brighter light?

Yes that is kurrjong look out... some dude pulled up in a stock S15 with a chick in the car... (P plater too) I think we ruined their night for about 2 hours!

I got no idea between the differences of Noinkon, but if it's like Canon e.g. Using an EF-S lens on a full frame camera, it's still workable. You can only blame the lens on the sharpness of the photo not the light ;)

Silver is the easiest colour of cars to take photos of. Whether it be flashes/strobed/light painted.

Get a brighter light and don't park under orange street lights? :)

The lens is only really going to affect your zoom level champ. you're camera knows what it is and will switch which will just give you a crop factor, so your 35mm from a smaller format will look more like what you'd expect from a 50mm. the sharpness wouldn't change more than a bee's dick.

Silver is the easiest colour to light man, you don't need any tips from us, you just need to do that 3 hours of internet research to catch up :)

I did some painting on a black xr6 at lunch. will post some shots up over the weekend. Made a new lighting rig today and tried it out. Haven't viewed shots outside of cam lcd but it looks promosing ;)

not a good photo by any means, but...

Day 045: December 3, 2010

Every day I have a run from a lawyers office to the registry at the courts and back. They have a ticket system and ever since I started I have wanted MY ticket. Well today I finally got it. I'll admit, i had to take two tickets to get it, but meh, whatever. lol. I'm sticking this one in my folder as some kind of achievement. Yeah I know, this obsession with the number 19 is probably not healthy, but I really dont give a f**k, haha.

:)

I've alwanted wondered that Jay and first i assumed you were 19. But seeing your ugly mug on facebook you definitely aren't 19 and when you mentioned kids ages ago i was like hhmmm... Then i thought favourite number. Then i thought Tegan and Sara song Nineteen. Now i'm asking you.

Please graciously answer my longing question so i can get in on this "unhealthy" obsession with 19.

haha. ok, the story is...

i applied for a job as a bike courier and the first company that hired me gave me the number 19. i was 19 at the time also. so for the next few years all i ever responded to over the radio was the call to 019. wasnt long before that number became me and things just got out of hand, haha.

and to keep up the unhealthy obsession...

all taken this month (today actually) to stay legal in this thread :)

i should start a '019' album and see how many photos i can fill it with... or maybe i should just see a psych, haha.

oh, and for those who are interested... i turned 34 this year.

    • Hey guys. I have a 400R on its way to Australia from Japan currently and have a few questions I’m hoping others may be able to help with.   Wondering if anyone here has had any luck getting the Sat nav unit to work in Australia!? Assuming the Stereo is as simple as a band expanded and tv won’t work?  Seeing as they’re based off a Q50 which is Aus delivered is there any way to link that system to the nav? Nav modules and head unit are different part numbers and appear slightly different at the rear with plug ins etc. can I put my xtrail sd card into the rv37 and will that convert the maps or update to Australian? Has anyone got any advice here?     also has anyone fitted the factory remote start and Security system once it’s landed in Australia? I put an enquirey to Nissan Japan in via a third party, and they suggested it needs a Nissan Japan dealers device to setup and couldn’t guarantee if one here could do it or not. They can supply and I can physically fit it but to setup I would need a dealers device. Any information here would be appreciated also. I’ve seen one here with it fitted already prior to leaving Japan at a dealer/inporter, so clearly passes compliance and works when fitted Japan and doesn’t need changing here.      also, does the tyre inflation sensors work here? Does anything change with them when the vehicle arrives? Where are they actually situated? I’ve read they have batteries and they need to changing at times and seems like resetting involves the nav system?    any help here would be appreciated and any other aust specific information to help would be great. Looking forward to see what the current generation skyline is like and eager to see how many of the gadgets can be utilised here.  Thanks in advance
    • Do need to take it with a pinch of salt. One of the adapter failures, they clearly had setup issues with the flywheel.  One of the slipping ones I spoke to and it was pretty clear the throwout was riding, rather than fix, just swapped to a new clutch.    These clutches are being put in anything from 5k offroad 4x4 beaters, GR yaris, 500hp commodores to 1200hp barra monsters. Bound to be some issues in some of them when they are not a simple bolt in affair due to the changes in height.    There is a lot going on in this picture and unless I did the job myself no way to tell what really happened.
    • I did this mod in 2019  You just have to modify the top bracket of the ABS/TC/Fuel Pump Control ECU so it sits more upright and closer to the back seat and run a good quality positive battery lead from the engine bay, the negative lead i just bolted down to the body in the boot.
    • Damn... Not the feedback I want to hear.
