So im sick of the lack of light my headlights give out, its just pathetic.

But im not sure what to do in relation to this. Here are my 3 options as i see it.

1. Buy HIDs (H4's if im not mistaken), replace low beam, hope i align them right and be happy

2. Buy replacement globes of a higher power

3. Buy HIDs that are replacements for both hi and lo beam and once again hope i align them right

any option ive missed?

any input would be much appreciated :)

I would personally go with option 1.

You most likely wont need to use your high beam once you have upgraded to HID because they are bright enough. i have 6000k HID and they are great no trouble with glare and they produce a great amount of light a lot better than standard or upgraded halogen globes. I tried upgrading my globes to Phillips Crystal Vision but they sucked just as much as the factory supplied globes so i tried HIDs and ill never go back to normal halogen globes again.

I have honestly used my high beams only on two or three occasions its really not worth spending the extra $200 for a set of high beam HIDs when you wont be using your high beam.

I would stay clear of those cheap kits and get some decent ones (Phillips, Morimoto etc...) you only change your lights every 10 years or whatever so may as well pick something decent but its up to you, most HID kits have a slightly different light and colour output, for example a 6000k HID kit might look slightly different side by side with two different brands. have a look at http://www.theretrofitsource.com for decent brands i bought my Vega Diamond kit from NYTSKY.

I looked into doing this but found enough info on Gogle to put me off. There is a reason why these conversions are illegal in most countries and that is that the headlamps are not designed for them and so although they are very bright to look at a lot of light is scattered so as to dazzle oncoming traffic. If you have a car that had them originally but had them ripped out by compliance people then it would be OK to restore them but otherwise not unless you fit a suitable complete headlamp.

I thought all stageas came with XENON headlights out of the factory...making it ok for stageas to get a HID conversion if compliance have replaced them with halogens...??

yep, i am glad everyone arrive to their own conclusions because HID kits in halogen bowl headlights is not cool. i had it in my lexus and the glare used to hit the road signs on overpasses from 100m away, the glare was so bad.

only option is to buy a set of Xenon S2 lamps and whack those in, although the cutoff isn't that great in mine IMHO.

or you buy a set of non-xenon lights and to a HID projector retrofit which would be awesomely cool.
