Hey there I have a 1993 Nissan skyline r33 series one gts and would like to know the amount of r134a gas that is required for the air con system. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

does it currently have any gas in the system?

i know a guy who does aircon work and if he can't find into on the system and it isn't working because of being low on gas then he weighs the amount of gas that he sucks out of the system then uses an educated guess as to how much to put back in. i think the fact that a lot of systems use similar amounts makes it a bit easier.

there is no gas in the system as a part had been removed. i have reoiled the compressor and replaced the part. i have also pressure tested the system and all is good there only need to know the amount of gas that is required as it is not on our chart.

a little off topic, but i'd like to know - can you put the other type of gas in? i think it's r12a. (or r12? whichever wasn't outlawed)

apparently the 32 and 33 aircon works more efficently with that gas compared to the newer type.

yes i could put the other type of gas in the system i am using r134a as i have access to a bottle and the equipment required

educated guess i would say 600-750g of gas. R134a and R12 use different oils. ive done conversions from 12-134 but not the other way. 12 is meant to be a better refridgerant but i still wouldnt run it as 134 is effective. there is a sight glass on the dryer to help or gas it up til pressures are correct
