Hi people

This flyer was sent to me from CAMS (see below)

Its for people that have never experienced motorsport , so i didnt put it in events

If you have never held a cams licence and have a road registered car you can get some FREE laps around eastern creek, or see and learn what its like behind the scenes as a official

I don’t know all the details so read the flyer and email cams or eastern creek raceway

But it looks like the cheapest laps you will ever get around eastern creek

MOTOR SPORT “COME AND TRY” DAY

EASTERN CREEK INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY

SUNDAY 16TH JANUARY 2011

Do you dream of becoming a motorsport champion – or perhaps waving the chequered flag for a race winner?

Then the Motor Sport “Come and Try” Day – a free event at Eastern Creek International Raceway – is the place to be on Sunday, 16th January, 2011.

Experienced people on hand to advise on every facet of Motor Sport.

Advisers from the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport (CAMS), Eastern Creek International Raceway and CAMS affiliated clubs will provide information on all aspects of competing or officiating.

This will include the role of CAMS as the sport’s regulatory body as well as topics including;

• Licencing - Budgets - Insurance - Competition Categories - Event entry - Competition day procedures - Rules and the opportunities for Volunteer Officials – (a role that does not require any prior knowledge of Mechanics or engineering)

• Juniors from the age of 12, who can actually drive, will be allowed on the motorkhana circuit.

• For Juniors who cannot yet drive, there will be Driver Training sessions during the day on the Figure 8 track.

Demonstrations include;

• Simulated Races and Super Sprinting on the main track, Motorkhana on the skid pan and Drifting sessions on the figure-8 layout.

Other activities include:

 Sample drivers’ briefing by a Clerk of Course,

 Tours of the control tower, scrutineering bay and weighbridge,

 Explanation of race control, timing / lap scoring and other roles,

 Information on vehicle preparation safety and the role of the Scrutineer,

 Safety and medical information from a paramedic,

 Procedures in the event of an incident, and

 Practical demonstrations by flag marshals and trackside officials.

Numbers may have to be limited, so be quick

c'mon guys, its a free intro to motorsport day. you can't really complain if you are not a n00b (ie have held a cams license). the idea is to give people a no cost chance to have a look at motorsport.

ML73ZR, you would have to check the details, but I understand having a road license or not will not be an issue.
