Had a great time at superlap 2011, was great to see the cars slashing theyre 2010 times! That cyber evo is obviously a very refined package, and Tarzan makes the most of it.

Russ, it was good to meet you and your crew- youve gotta be happy with those times! Despite problemswith the splitter and the tune you showed up quite a list of cars ;)

plenty of good looking girls, shiny stuff, and fast cars!

bring on 2012

also, the choctop icecreams were good.

Talk about slashing lap times this year, may need to re-think some of the build on our new car to keep up with the competition.

Clubsprint knocked 1.9sec of last year winning time

Open knocked 1.6sec off last year

Pro knocked 1.7secs off last year

So where will they be in 2012?

Those promo girls will never be the same. They have experienced old man magic.

Superlap was totally off the chain. More aero than F18 hornets and blistering times in all classes.

Rotors dropping their guts everywhere (apex seals out) Fires, more quick times, Protests, more quick times. and so on ad infinitum.

The aero package on Cootes S13 was done by the same dude that did marks. the Cootes car looked ridiculously stupid but boy, did it haul arse. It was a pity the sierra evo shat a head gasket and couldnt pony up for the last session, They were promising something special.

Highlight for me was confirmation of what I though last year when I left. The silvia platform is the way to go for a rwd time attack car. Mark was impressive given the amount of time he had to try and dial the car in, My last convo with him finished with him walking off mutterring something about finishing the damn car and not turning up underdone again. Bring it Berry boy, we want to see it.

The 35 gtrs were damn impressive, I think the writing is on the wall. Enjoy it while you can Emo's A new king is waiting in the wings. Solving the weight problem is going to be the key.

Much better event than last year thanks to pissing the kiddy skidders off to outside hours. The announcers were shit, I kicked their bloody door until they opened it and told them to stfu while the cars were crossing the line because we couldnt here the times over the engines. (would rather listen to the engines anyhoos)

Rotors are not capable of making enough power reliably to win at the creek. They might shine on smaller tighter tracks but on a big flowing circuit like that they are outgunned. The pan car learned from last year but was still at least 100 hp shy of what it needed to get the job done. Pump up the boost to get it right and they drop their guts. Pistons rule.

Tuffest looking cars were the scorch S13 and the other FD mazda that looked like a gt500 car. It ran low 30's too.

Met a heap of sauers for the first time, Baron, Marlin, russman and others.

Only 364 days till the next Superlap, Bring it.

Hey Guys,

Here are few of the pictures that i took on Saturday morning. i have a whole bunch more but i will upload later if you want. I haven't uploaded photos before so we will see how it goes. Good day and it was nice to see a reasonable crowed at a Motorsport event at EC.

Sorry about the sizing i had to cut them in paint because the file sizes where big.

Cheers,

Daniel

Massive eventVery happy with the time and way better than I expected. Lots of challenges with the car. To add, we have not been to Eastern creek for almost three years. We recently made quick release Rose jointed inner rack ends, changing Ackerman steering angle, which we researched to fix under steer. Theory seemed to work, with 1.35.2 time we did. We only had one session with new tyres, Hankooks 2221 btw, and found tyre temps in theory too high in pressures being around 3psi too high, as we set cold temps a little high. Definitely a 1min 34 in it as is, just with more time and some adjustments.

We popped the stock crappy head gasket that has NO fire ring and with open deck alloy block and sleaves, no real surprise. We know how to fix properly now and continue to develop the VQ, like we did with the VG.

Big thanks to T04TR for his efforts and ability and to John Boston for his brilliant drive.

give me a year and I'll see if I can change your mind :)

I had a good time, right until Berry's car was dropped off the airjacks without warning while I was closing the bonnet..... my foot is rooted (crushed under front splitter). It's especially sore now I'm sober.

How's yours Baron?

Was an awesome weekend away in NSW! So happy to have seen Tarzan's winning lap :)

did the old auto select r33 gtr run at all?

was up there on friday n didnt c it while i was there

The yellow Revzone one? Yeah, it did run a few times, the last time I saw it something went wrong and they came off early. I think the owner posts on SAU.

    • Hey guys I’m chasing a Rb20det complete or bare block need a good running engine as mine has low comp
    • You're making my point for me. 95 is not "premium". It is a "slightly higher octane" version of the basic 91 product. The premium product that they want people to buy (for all the venal corporate reasons of making more profit, and all the possibly specious reasons of it being a "better" fuel with nicer additive packages) is the 98 octane stuff. 95 is the classic middle child. No-one wants it. No-one cares about it. It is just there, occupying a space in the product hierarchy.
    • 98 and 95 have to meet the same national fuel standards beside the actual RON.  91 has lower standards (which are quite poor really), so 95 is certainly not 91 with some octane booster. It would be an easier argument to claim 98 is just 95 with some octane boosters. Also RON doesn't specify 'quality' in any sense, only the octane number.  Anything different retailers decide or not decide to add to their 95 or 98 is arbitrary and not defined by the RON figure.
    • Anyone know alternatives to powerplus tungsten? Can't find an alternative online.
    • 95 is just a scam outright. 98 is the real "premium" with all the best detergents and other additive packages, and at least historically, used to be more dense also. 95 is just 91 bargain basement shit with a little extra octane rating. Of course, there's 91 and there's 91 also. I always (back in the 90s early 2000s) refused to put fuel in from supermarket related fuel chains on the basis that it was nasty half arsed shit imported from Indonesia. Nowadays, I suspect that there is little difference between the nasty half-arsed shit brought in by the "bargain" chains and the nasty half-arsed shit brought in by the big brands, given that most of it is coming from the same SEAsian refineries. Anyway - if there's still anything to that logic, then it would apply to 95 also. 98 is only made in decent refineries and, as I said, is usually the "premium" fuel, both in terms of octane rating and "use this because it's good for your engine because it's got the unicorn jizz in it!".
