Thanks for that tid-bit of info! It never occured to me.. Im guessing the twin gate option would be easier, even if more expensive.

battery, the car is currently used for street driving, however my thirst for more power is getting a little too much ;) After which time, it will slowly turn into a weekend warrior/occasional strip, track car .

Much over 300kw and I think a GTS-4 or GTR base would be much better suited, I really doubt the extra power will make you any faster, unless of course it is a pure fun car, where lighting the wheels up and just generally having good old silly fun is the goal.

Haha that describes my car perfectly!! got some new 595 SS's put on the rear expecting an improvement over the worn out no brand cheapies I had on there but 1st and 2nd are still useless...

Why does everyone desire the L2? I run the normal TD06 and on the same dyno with the same tuner my car make .5rwkws more and was a tad more responsive. So probably more to do with being a tad healthier engine, smaller diam wheel ?! But point is there was no real difference in performance on an RB20, and it seems the plain TD06 wheel flows a bit more then the L2 wheel. So makes me think on an RB25 you would not want the L2 wheel with anything less then a 10cm housing

Look at your wheel, tyre and suspension choice, there should be no reason why you cant get a GTST to handle 300kw nice and easily :)

Sounds like you have done your research but i think the biggest result i have seen on 98 was 320-330kw.

Unfortunately not :( I worked in Melb for the second half of last year, and upto April this year. Was amazing! But, if I need my car tuned up or worked on, I'll do everything I can to get it tuned at RacePace. Anyway :)

Was that 320 - 330rwkw using the T67? Hmm.. That still doesnt really satisfy me! Lol. I'm after slightly bigger numbers; as in my previous post, somewhere 350rwkw+ would make me smile from ear to ear . I just had a search through the Kando ebay store.. But got tired of searching by the 8th page ! Do they have something which could be a little more suitable for my outcome? ... I just had a re-read through the first post, and it says he was using a 50/50 mix of E85 to 98 . Surely the lack of the 50% of E85 couldnt rob that much power could it?

Guess its back to the drawing board.. Or a Garret 3582R .. $_$

And as for the handling aspect, even now, I make my way against Evo's and Sti's . Granted, they probably aren't pushing the same sort of power, but their handling characteristics should, on paper atleast, blow me away. However thats not the case.. As a side note, you could have the most grippy, most expensive tyres, the craziest and latest suspension, with every little bit of adjustment adjusted perfectly for the track at hand, all the latest anti-roll equipment on board, chassis bracing etc ...

And it might be still not be as good as a standard weight, "performance" tyres, shocks and springs, sway bar or two, R33. Throttle control, correct steering technique, optimal gear selection... I think these all make a driver. I can handly 260rwkw through no-name 225's better than my friend with an Evo 7 with some actually decent tyres. Anyway, enough tooting my own horn :)

Yeah from the sound of it you could get the same power from a T67 with a lot better response ~4200rpm full boost. Power would also be more linear and easier to put to the ground.

GTX3582R is on the shopping list I think; claimed spool slightly more than a 3076, and same if not better than standard GT3582R . However, the turbo is rated at 750hp, 150hp more than the GT3582R . I'm kinda hoping with a Twin Scroll manifold, and a 3 1/2 inch exhaust, running through a 1.06AR (or maybe even a 0.82AR...?) full boost could be seen by 4000 - 4500 rpm . I think that would be a good choice against the T67 if more power is the goal? Expenses aside, that is. Especially considering the reduced lag time from a GTX turbo. (Claimed, that is)

Sorry to partially highjack the main point of the thread, but I thought it good to have a bit of a comparison against the T67. As I stated before, I was super keen on the T67; however the power figures (on 98) arent quite enough for what I'm after.

As for the 'stupid' limit for a RWD car, I think once I complete this, I'll be at that limit :) the GTX3582R is supposedly good for 400rwkw+ (600hp+ in the old speak) towards its limit.. Anymore than that and its getting a little ridiculous :)

Big fat tyres, top material, and it should be seen to be mostly useable power :) Has anyone had any experience with a GTX3582R that could give some first hand info to compare against the T67?

how many psi u running Battery?

No doubt that GTX will need a built engine and with a built engine and more boost the T67 could get up over 350 id think..

If your spending that much then 800$ is poo change so why not just buy the T67 and give it a shot if your not happy sell it and go bigger

oh and everybody has access to e85, ;)

their suggested boost is 1.5 bar (21psi you havent even hit that yet ..lol) and its capable of 2.8 bar..so even at 2 bar of boost on a built engine without e85 i reckon it could get close to 400kw.. what you think?

I think the T67 hits the sweet spot and it looks like e85 is gonna be alot easier too find in the coming months...

If you want the T67 power, then get the T67 power lol.

whats the thoughts on this one? they rate it as a higher hp than Simon`s. all specs seem the same apart from compressor housing and being water cooled. same same?

lol..i had 460rwkw, a live rear axle and 17 inch 275 drag radials, and still looked out the side window to drive on full throttle at anything under 170-180ish km.

I had to fit 26x8.5 15 inch cheater slicks(et street rags) to make it safe and drive straight.

    • No worries, everything worked out in the end. I just wanted to make the point that it doesn't matter where it comes from (I.E Australia), it can be broken or improperly built. I would still purchase from these companies in the future. B2R - Not certain how that finished, this was on a car I wired a few things and street tuned. I know the owner ended up shipping the motor back to Australia for investigation. Hopefully some of it is covered under warranty.  Turbosmart - I always pressure test everything that goes on my car. It's a habit from my career in oil and gas. I run two 40mm's and both had major leaks from the actuator to exhaust portion through the shaft. I returned both, they shipped me back two and one was leaking and the other had a 38mm top (40mm gate with 38mm actuator cap, no idea how that happens). Eventually after a lot of back and forth I found myself with two non-leaking gates. I believe this happens a lot more then people would like to believe but you would never know if you don't pressure test them prior to installation. Crank Motorsport - Issued a full refund and let me keep the seat rails. I turned them into scrap metal for other projects. GKTech - Shipped me out a replacement and asked that I modify it as per my idea and that they would do the same for a future revision. ATP - Can just needed a large shim to bolt up properly.  Haltech - They started an actual proper Beta channel for firmware's a few months back and stopped using the general public for testing. I'm now much happier.  Speedtek - f**k Speedtek. I would love to watch them burn.     
    • I've got a Turbosmart wastegate, ATP catch can, many GK Tech parts and Haltech everything. Everything's been perfect, sorry to hear your experience wasn't the same
    • The only high-power RB I've personally seen go pop after running for all of an hour on a dyno was built by B2R, while being remotely tuned by B2R. The only wastegates I've ever had leak like a sieve, return, still leak, return and get shipped back the wrong ones were from Turbosmart. The only final drive that I've ever purchased that were unusable, twice... were from Speedtek. The only seat mounts that I've ever purchased that placed the seats in the door frame were from Crank Motorsport. The only poorly designed parts that I had the manufacturer confirm should have been designed as per what I mentioned were from GKTech. The only ECU I've had firmware updates consistently break things are Haltech. The only catch can I've purchased that didn't fit in its advertised spot was from ATP. So forth and so on... Moral of the story, doesn't matter where it's from. Do your research beforehand and stick with products and companies you've trusted in the past.    @joshuaho96 If you want it done right, do it yourself.

    • I was surprised to see all the quick Jack models at the same prices on there. But yeah, grabbing one at 20% off would be great.
