lol..i had 460rwkw, a live rear axle and 17 inch 275 drag radials, and still looked out the side window to drive on full throttle at anything under 170-180ish km.

I had to fit 26x8.5 15 inch cheater slicks(et street rags) to make it safe and drive straight.

And yes, a bigger turbo wouldnt go astray seeing as how E85 isnt really accessible for me :glare: , hence why I was steering towards the GTX3582R . Money isnt necessarily an issue.. And I havent factored building the engine yet, but I'm guessing around the $3.5K - $5k mark? I'm not really sure as I've never had to build a motor though..:blush:

That larger Kando turbo that was linked from ebay could look promising.. I wonder if that would get to, or push over the 350rwkw mark on 98? Hmm..

you obviously missed my post...if they are pushing 300kw at 18psi on 98 , 350kw at 25 psi should be easy...and thats the T67..

Fair enough, I was just under the impression that 300rwkw - 330rwkw was heading towards its limit on 98. Might have to go back through the thread and do a bit more reading :thumbsup:

And I guess the extra $2k saved can go elsewhere.. Like maybe a spare T67 when it decides to throw a turbine wheel out the exhaust ;) ; just kidding.

Could a reasonable guess-tamation be that figure, minus 7% - 10%? as the difference between 98 and E85 (from the results I've seen anyway..) have generally been no more than 10%.

I might've already missed it; but has anyone seen or have a compressor map for the T67? It'd give a rough idea of the upper limits of boost it could run efficiently, then maybe pushing 2 Bar could be enough?

The GTX3582R would be very tasty to have; but last night I started to have second thoughts on it. Perhaps its being a little too excessive lol. Maybe a T67 with the 12cm housing could push over 350rwkw? Guess I'll have to take the plunge and find out haha.

I did alot of searching a while back and I think the biggest result on 98 I found was 330 on something like 25 psi... full built motor and cams...

Was that the T67 with the 10cm housing, or the higher rated 12cm housing? Surely these turbos would be able to push a bit more boost than that efficiently? (taking into account the fact that all necessary knock-reducing parts have been used..)

You need a TD06SH-25G. Throwing a bigger housing on the T67 wont do the job (IMO) The bigger turbine will help make the 350rwkws you want. I know of a TD06SH-25G with 10cm housing; powered car that on an RB25 with baby cams and a Greddy plenum made 345rwkws on pump fuel no fuss at 20psi

I think the last word you can use with the T67 turbo is dissapointing! We are talking about a turbo that has slightly less response than a 3076 and able to make more top end. Yes it is in a different category to the GT35, less top end but a lot less lag as well.

Saying that I think I've pretty much maxed the 25g compressor making 390kw at the hubs aka 360rwkw

In all honesty man, while i don't claim to be the worlds foremost expert on RB25's, i have driven and seen plenty modified. I think you are asking a lot

for a 2.5l motor really, They can only swallow so much air before you have to make them a "pig" with to big of a turbo to be any real fun.

My advice is stick to 300-350rwkw E85 depending..or build a 3.0 bottom end....

Why does everyone desire the L2? I run the normal TD06 and on the same dyno with the same tuner my car make .5rwkws more and was a tad more responsive. So probably more to do with being a tad healthier engine, smaller diam wheel ?! But point is there was no real difference in performance on an RB20, and it seems the plain TD06 wheel flows a bit more then the L2 wheel. So makes me think on an RB25 you would not want the L2 wheel with anything less then a 10cm housing

Putting things into perspective.. L2 wheel = T67 with TD07 shaft diameter = same shit, different smell.

Ill put it down to my logic. SR20 w/TD06SL2 20G 8cm makes very respectable numbers and response. Simon has proven the same rear wheel with a tiny 10cm housing can flow substantial numbers, in his own words he has maxed his 25G (note 78mm) compressor. His exhaust side is not choking nor holding him back.

Move the said turbo from the SR to the RB and you can only spool faster, right? Go up from an 8cm housing to a 10cm housing and you may just accommodate for that 25% displacement and utilise the 20g across most of your power band. The 10cm is still a small .73AR housing, so I anticipate it will not hinder its character from what the 8cm had to offer.

Honestly, SR L2 20g plots well against a 3076R RB25 IMHO. How can I not find it an attractive offer to utilise the same on a bigger motor?

Anyway, I should have my TD06SL2 20g by the end of the week, as should another member who I am not sure if hes advertised it yet. So we shall see just what the hype is about, or perhaps not. Hey its anybodies game!

    • If doing that ^, I'd take the idle up valve out and plug the hole in the pump.
    • You can try capping the power steering idle up valve at both ends if it's old. The valve and the intake manifold. That is something that is known to fail in Toyotas with age and it will suck power steering fluid into the intake and burn it in the engine which can cause issues. Then bleed it again with engine off first. Do like 30+ lock to lock turns with the front wheels off the ground.

    • Once you have to get up in the morning and be useful, you suddenly value sleep it turns out :p
    • Update:   smoke test all pipes no issues cleaned reservoir   fluid put in ( dexron 3 atf)   steering turn side to side and could hearing  gurgling from steering rack which I assumed was air lock, opened one of the steering rack connections and could see loads of air getting pushed out( not sure if you meant to do that / whether it will re introduce air into system)   anyways, loads of side to side sound was gone. Turned car on, pump was slightly ( barely) wining so turned side to side few more turns and fluid level when car on was almost none in resorvoir which I guess is normal if car is one. Turned car of and fluid was gushing out. Almost 200-300cc was pushed out. Repeated engine off side to side followed  by engine on and same result       going mad now. It seems system is either sucking air in whilst on or there is tons of air which I am not giving it enough time to bleed. Thoughts?   would it work like brake caliper if I open steering rack copper pipes and let gravity pull all air out?   or maybe have a restriction somewhere? What is the red circled item, could that be blocked? It i
