So can somebody who has bought or contacted Kando ask about the 20G-XTR billet wheels and ball bearing, water cooled centres that the US STI gusy etc are starting to run???

If he can use his shaft and turbines on those compressor wheels and cartridges with my Greddy housings...lol could be a killer hybrid

Come on dude.. Do you really think such ordinary changes to the thing will alter it that much?

I whole heartedly believe manufacturers would have adopted these technologies 50 years ago when they became available if they were truly that useful.

Read the HG thread, he built some ballbearing turbos then scrapped them because the difference was negligable.

I bought some braided oil and water lines to suit a gt35r on rb25det from Kando Dynamics last week. They were only $80, arrived in record time and look and feel the part. Certainly not "cheap ebay crap" as some have suggested. I'm pleased already and I'll comment more once they are in use.

I hate all this microtech hate I use one with no problems only a little idle hunt everynown and then my car still goes when I put my foot down

Doesn't stop it being a featureless package that has crappy software though. I could put a blow through carby setup on my skyline that would work 'no problems' as well, doesn't mean it wouldn't be shit.

What about when you turn your AC on, does it even have idle air control? If it does does it support AC ?

A bloke I know has LT12 on his ballistic gemini. I downloaded the software from the site to have a look at his tune and the software was substandard to say the least.

Remapping the standard computer with one of those crappy eeprom flashers would be better than a microleb.

The billet wheels are meant to be lighter, and flow more for no increase in diameter. How is that a bad thing? Also the water cooled cartridge is a thing I would like as well.

Dont get me started on BB vs non-BB, I was saying there was more to a turbo then being BB back in 2003 when i went my TD06 instead of 2835 and i copped years of flack for not going HKS but instead going "TRUCK TURBO" {lol, and proud}... so agree on BB meaning little. But a newer compressor that they seem to rate for an extra 20hp that would mean better transient response ... why wouldnt you ask for it...ditto the water cooled centre?????

...that all said, if there was only a few dollars in it, wheels, housings etc all the same....I would still like a BB centre over a plain bearing turbo. Provided the cartridge is of good quality

I recently got a set of braided lines from Kando as well and was quite pleased with the cost, quality and speed with which they arrived.

Being honest, I have seen water cooling an 'optional' core make an ENORMOUS difference to response. I do not know if that was a one off case or if the same can be expected elsewhere though.

Yet I think of it this way, the 20g is a good thing... I consider it to stay a good thing in its original form... What you are suggesting is that they have bored the wheel out to allow more airflow.. Its now a different compressor wheel all together, just in the same size and trims. It is not engineered to be that, it is a 'tweaked' version.... Hopefully a good thing. Yet again I think Stao has tested the same thing and found it to suffer in response (bored out the wheel surface area) read the damn thread!

However if your Trust items are oil only, maybe give a Kando a shot as they come water cooled.

Yeh, the compressors are meant to be new and billet. Some of the US guys say they are mainly a Garret turbo so who knows where the 20G name basis comes from. Some inducate its a TD06L2 turbine with Garret centre and custome compressor...I cant really find out to be truthful.

I want to see you build a blow though setup on a skyline with no problems..:), you'd spend half you time ringing a towtruck to pick you up and draining the motor of fuel because the carby seals let go, haha

cheers

Don't have air con so doesn't bother me

Mines not piggyback it's hard wired in and I'm running VCT fine so I should have that prib when I'm working on mine electrically I undo my battery so there is no power to it at all

Yes well I needed to test if I could force the VCT to click on as its not working, and drive it to gauge the difference. Yet the switchable earth touched ground while I was testing and did a lot more damage than I expected. The stock ECU is fine, just the voltage spike it created rooted the microtech lol

Point is it is a downgrade from the stock ecu and there is no good reason to buy or use one.

I wouldn't say that. My mates gemmi put out 200 rwhp at only 12.5 psi. The engine is newly built and will be eventually be wound up to over 30 psi.
