Wow, massive read over the last 3 days. Thanks to all who have contributed, been very informative & it's helped me pick and change my mind on turbo selection for the RB26 build.

I was going to select 3076, as i used to run a HKS3037S on my RB25 before it expired, or -5's.

Engine is only used for track duties, time attack here in QLD.

My main concern was response but comparing the results with my 3037 graphs have helped me pick the T67-25G. I plan to run it on 98 until i find a consistent source of E85. I need solid torque by 3800-400rpm otherwise i'm left in a hole between 2 & 3rd gear.

Just got my head, valves and ex mani's(twins now not needed) back from the ceramic coater..... Need to get a mani for single turbo now.

Not chasing massive hp, but want 430rwhp as that's what my old 25 3037 combo had before i cracked the block.

I'll post up some results around mid to late Feb when it's complete.

cheers

You won't be disappointed... What RPM are you planning to run the RB26 to?

Are you sure?? I can see that they use the same 11 blade turbine wheel BUT the housings CAN be different.. e.g 8cm 10cm 12cm..

I still believe the T67-25G is bigger than a TD06-25G especially if its a 8cm.. if i'm wrong let me know what 2 turbo's you are comparing cause it is a little confusing with all the different TD06 you can get cheers.gif

Yeah you can definitely get different variants, yet the usual housing you get on the T67 is the T3 10cm Vband item

You can also get a T3 10cm Vband on the TD06SL2 20g, in this case the rear end of the turbo is identical.

The TD06SL2's we have been buying and reporting back how tiny they are are all 10cm Vband jobs (me & ARTZ), so yeah.. Same tiny housing that would be on Simons T67.

If its any help I can measure and take photos of those two turbos I have at home this weekend. They are Greddy versions , not Kando so the exhaust housing dimensions will be different as Greddy are 3 bolt Mitsu housings and Kando T3 typically

If you can take a photo of an L2 vs a T67 and measurements that would be good. They should be the same item.

What does a setup like that cost and how easily can you hook it into most tuning packages?

Hey mate,

not as much as you would expect. It only becomes expensive if you want to monitor multiple channels at once. I bought my sensor and amplifier from the states and wired it into either my datalogit or wideband. For simple monitoring you need the amplifier to give you a 0-5V analog signal output. It's when you wanna datalog 6 channels at once that you need some expensive specialised gear.

Exhaustgas.com are damn quick in delivery also and the quality of the sensor and amp were great.

So if its the same is it only the front wheel/housing that is different?

You ask lots of questions boy.

Heres how it goes:

Kando TD06SL2-20g T3 10cm - td06sl2 rear wheel, TD05/06 shaft, 20g front wheel, trust .60 front housing, kando T3 10cm rear housing, oil+water cooled CHRA

Kando T67 T3 10cm - td06sl2 rear wheel, TD07 shaft, 25g front wheel, trust .70 front housing, kando T3 10cm rear housing, oil cooled CHRA

The rear housing would not only be 100% interchangable between the above models, it is exactly the same item. I put all this info into a post on this thread and also in the 'lets talk TD06' thread.

Enjoy

Sorry for all the questions i have lots of time before i have the money to buy my turbo upgrade so i'm trying to make sure i pick the correct turbo and not what someone else picked that worked for them.

worship.gif thank you and i just looked at the ''lets talk TD06 ' thread which is what i was after cheers.gif

Hey SimonR32,

As little as possible :whistling: But probably 7500. My 25 used to make 430hp@7400 and still make power on the way to 8000 but i didn't like revving it that hard. I should post up a dyno graph as its interesting to compare it to your T67 result on E85. Actually your graph was what convinced me to go T67!

In a nutshell 3037 in front until 3500 from my hazey memory from last night while i was trying to digest all 90+pages... but after that the T67 romps away

Do any of you guys with the T67 have a torque graph you can post- I don't care about the numbers or scaling, i'd just like to see the shape of the curve?

DVS JEZ- i run -5's on the 26/30 in my GTR. Just awesome. Its in the shop now for it's final tune...before i sell it :( to provide me with some more fun tickets so i can finish my little track car :D

The 6boob jobbie really does make quite a difference- i picked up 30hp while dropping 2psi on the 3037!

BTW the 26 is going in my S13

Not as good as the L2 variant.....

What SR are you using man? This is getting a little OT tho haha

Cams open up an SR big time, you could cam up with some rocker stoppers and springs then rev it to 8 on a short ratio. Make the most of that SH you have (if you really wanted to keep it).

Either way the above will be a good upgrade anyway

L2 means I would have to run external gate I'm trying to keep away from it reason for manifold change is the turbo will sit mega close to the abs 2mm on the BMW I want to bring tge turbo forward then I can run bigger. Rocker stoppers and cams are def on the list need to get it running first but
