Kando Dynamics Turbo

Hey guys, got a bit of an "oddball" setup going on, am doing a remote mount turbo. Engine is a VG30DE 10.5:1 comp, and am looking at a TD06-20G as the turbo. Will be running Water/methanol with no IC, but will only be running 7psi for the first week or two. Would a TD06-20G be too big? maybe choose a smaller exhaust housing then usual?

Hey mate, I dont think it would be too big. Possibly the smallest id run to be honest.

Yet I dont have any first hand experience with a remote mount, maybe it needs something different.

Wow plots so much different to mine, absolutely nothing happens till 4k then bang, it gains 120kw by 5k..must be fun :D

did you find out if that ring was missing in the gate??

+1 more specs on the SR above please, and

JEZ: specs on the motor you recently tuned with the 20g internal gate please.

Its a stock rb25 Running stock manifold. Td06 20g 8cm 21psi on 98 octane pretty aggressive tune.

No vtc yet.

Has since made up a 5 bolt rear housing and boost pressure is safe and stable at 14psi. Should help with flow too.

Retune on 18psi once he gets car rego'd

This is a great turbo to stop getting defected coz it looks like a stock RB25DET turbo with all the japanese on it. Im also loving the fact that you can get about 300kw stock using this babe. Thumps up fellas for finding this masterpiece

8cm will be perfect for you, but if you're only running 7psi, you probably won't get much power and may be laggy.

what is your goal - response or outright power?

nice, i reckon it will be perfect streeter with response and 250-260~ rwkw and can match the similar turbo from hypergear.

i am here. :nyaanyaa:

should be getting the car back tomorrow so fingers crossed for no issues & good results...

Will be pushing it up to 15-17psi and yeah outright power is the goal.

go the 10cm.

the na compression will help spool it up

The below picture isnt a perfect example as the spreadsheet is the combination of my car on two different dynos and two different tuners. The dynos read about the same, if anything the dyno that produced the 8cm result read a little lower then the 10cm dyno. The tuner that did the 10cm tune was not as good a tuner as my current tuner. So that obscures the result.

But even so, I think it paints the correct picture as to what happens when you throw too big an exhaust housing on a car. Unless your car is choking on its exhaust gases, going to a larger A/R housing is a pretty risky way of trying to get more power. Especially with a turo mounted well away from the head. The exhaust gas would not have the same amount of energy after its gone through piping and cat/mufflers etc

TD06_Plot.jpg

If you want more power look to try and get your inlet temps as low as possible, back pressure from exhaust as low as possible, pressure drop in inlet as low as possible etc. Then have a look at your
