Man i really hope that's what it is!!! Will be a silly mistake if it was the reason!!!

im just having a look to see if the haltech works off kpa absolute or kpa.

ill send you the tune back with the overboost raised, let me know if it still cuts out, but obviously dont go thrashing it as the tune isnt finished for high boost

its absolute pressure

Internal Input Sensors

MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE (MAP)

Rated to 150kPa (up to 1.5 Bar or 22 psi boost)

External Input Sensors (supplied at extra cost)

MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE (MAP)

1 Bar -100kPa to 0kPa (Naturally Aspirated)

2 Bar -100kPa to 100kPa (up to 1 Bar or 15 psi

3 Bar -100kPa to 200kPa (up to 2 Bar or 30 psi

4 Bar -100kPa to 300kPa (up to 3 Bar or 45 psi

5 Bar -100kPa to 400kPa (up to 4 Bar or 60 psi

Not so much a bad name but I loose work over people saying the manifold don't work it does work and it's proven as jez just stated boost cut wasn't changed for high boost. If the manifold wasn't working it would be spiking seems every time dori has a boost issue the finger gets pointed at the manifold and it effects my clients Thinking my product is shit

Become a trader then you may have a leg to stand on imo

As for "your" product. It is just a copy of what dozens of others have done

So they aren't saying "your" product,?just the design in general is not ideal

So untwist those knickers lol :)

so i tested it this morning with Jez changing the boost cut higher, tested in 2nd up to 6800,i did not notice any power loss at all, so far it's looking promising.

i also found out my tuner set my high boost to 24psi when i strictly asked for 21psi. hmmm

Yeah and your boost cut was at 23psi wasn't it? From the post from Jez? Which may explain why its dying in the ass when its on full boost? Sounds like your on the right track so far, cant wait to see it all sorted!! :D

yeah me too man, been to many dramas/heartbreak/headache the past month.

dropping it off to jez next weekend, woo

Next weekend eh? Sounds awesome!

I REALLY hope i dont go through this drama when mine gets tuned soon... Ill let you know how i go with ECU choice etc, should be happening very soon!

Hey mate, it definitely is a looonngggg thread with lots and lots of info, yet everything you want to know has been covered many times over.

Just to recap for you: we are only considering the TD06L2-20G 10cm or the T67-25G 10cm on an RB25 in all scenarios. The IW housings are a crap and arent stacking up even when trying to improve them.

You will need to run an external gate on an RB sized turbo, we recommend the tial 44mm gate as per SimonR32. If you are running a 4 banger you can go to the TD05H-18G in the SR20 spec housings, these do work and net around the 240kw mark.

For your goal of a zippy 270kw you should be looking at the TD06L2-20G 10cm with a small spacer and hung off the standard manifold. I recommend you hang the gate off the rear housing.

Alternatively, Hypergear has an excellent internal gate option called the SS1PU. It does not have the same 'scope' as the 20g (20g looks like it could be stretched to 300kw) but it does have the ZIP you are after.

Please have a read of this thread start to end, you will understand more than what you need to know to make an informed decision.

Thanks mate, going to try and get through it soon.

I have decided though the TD06L2-20G on the standard manifold will be the best for my application i think, can anyone reccomend somewhere i can get the housing modded for the gate? Dont think anyone local to me would be keen.

Send it down with the wastegate flange, I can do the same mod as Artz has on the rear housing if you like.

    • Sadly I can confirm if you are actually seeking to drift, you will quite easily spin up one wheel. Even if you're going in a straight line. I am not entirely sure of the metrics/terminology here but there's only a certain amount that the helical will actually spin both wheels. I've seen it on video with my own car where two lines of smoke switch over to just one after you really get in to it. Unlike with a clutch diff where you can keep your foot planted until the car regains grip, in my experience with the helical you want to be utilizing traction control allowing LIMITED slip or lifting (partially) when you start to spin up both tyres with a Nissan helical. Which makes them pretty sub optimal for drifting duty. That said... this is probably a helical on numbers alone. Just put the Kazz in
    • Let's just fix the problem by f**king the rest of the gearbox.
    • Unlikely, as per Greg's post. This is not helical diff behaviour unless one wheel is up off the ground. Shimming what? You don't "shim" a mechanical LSD. Probably not in the sense that you have heard of people "shimming" a diff. And the process that Nissan f**kwits call "shimming" a diff involves super-preloading a VLSD cartridge against the side of the diff to create a friction/wear point (in a place that it wasn't supposed to have one) to make the sloppy, useless, viscous diff into a hybrid viscous/mech abortion. In case it isn't clear, I consider the process to be stupid. Nike.
    • How much does the shifter move when the car is in gear with the engine off? If it is more than about 1cm you need to replace your shifter bush. Your shifts will just get crunchier, not faster, with a short shifter unless you also rebuild the whole box
