Artz has convinced me to go highmount, pointed out a few things i hadnt thought of etc.

Im in Bunbury WA, and there isnt to many fabricators down here who like to do anything to "out of the ordinary"

So will hopefully start getting it all together soon.

All the good boilies in bunbury I know from martins and kordt get worked to the bone so they tend not to do cashies but let me know if you get stuck and I will see if they are keen.

Hahaha yep.

Got some great results but car has really bad comp surge coming onto boost. Tried a few things but 11:55pm finish was enough for me last night.

Before we touch the tune up again we need to get the vtc working.

And sort out why it comp surges so drastically on higher boost at low rpm. Hammers after that

Sounds awesome!!! Everyone loves a bit of gate

Bet your glad you were forced to take it in early now eh? Makes up for the weekends bad luck :P

What is it making? Close to expectations?

Better than he expected once we opened up to screamer. When it was plumbed in it was limited at 250ish kw.

Needs a bigger pipe outletting from gate

Haha AWESOME! i thought the goal was conservative

I actually thought running a screamer had a negative affect for some reason... Thoughts??

BIG THANKS TO DVS JEZ & BSA for all their work! highly recommended to anyone in NSW for tuning and fabrication stuff, they'll sort you out

it was a late night but i was very happy with the results, didnt get home until 2am but was well worth the drive!

for some reason, it wasn't liking 21psi and it was surging, gonna try a anti-surge front cover and go back for more, as stated by Jez, sort out the VCT and aim for more. it definitely hammers on the road >_<

PS: plumped up gate = POO

MATT; open up that screamer!

Hahaha Ill drop my wheels off to Craved Coatings one weekend soon and give you a call to see if i can get a run with you so motivate me a bit more

That looks like it comes on hard!!! And impressive result considering the boost, BEST thing you did was take it to a decent tuner, your last guy will get the flick from now on i hope? :glare:

Good result mate!

Not sure on bigger pipe as it fitted the tial vband very tight can only try a different merge style I think

FAAAAARRRK THAT MAN...thats freakin awesome, I thought you might struggle to make 270rwkw, man that is a killer result! ! There is no way I'm going a HG or Garret now, it does hammer on the road right?? ! ! ! Big kudos to you guys man.........

PS - thats with a screamer not plumbed back hey - bit worried there..

    • Sadly I can confirm if you are actually seeking to drift, you will quite easily spin up one wheel. Even if you're going in a straight line. I am not entirely sure of the metrics/terminology here but there's only a certain amount that the helical will actually spin both wheels. I've seen it on video with my own car where two lines of smoke switch over to just one after you really get in to it. Unlike with a clutch diff where you can keep your foot planted until the car regains grip, in my experience with the helical you want to be utilizing traction control allowing LIMITED slip or lifting (partially) when you start to spin up both tyres with a Nissan helical. Which makes them pretty sub optimal for drifting duty. That said... this is probably a helical on numbers alone. Just put the Kazz in
    • Let's just fix the problem by f**king the rest of the gearbox.
    • Unlikely, as per Greg's post. This is not helical diff behaviour unless one wheel is up off the ground. Shimming what? You don't "shim" a mechanical LSD. Probably not in the sense that you have heard of people "shimming" a diff. And the process that Nissan f**kwits call "shimming" a diff involves super-preloading a VLSD cartridge against the side of the diff to create a friction/wear point (in a place that it wasn't supposed to have one) to make the sloppy, useless, viscous diff into a hybrid viscous/mech abortion. In case it isn't clear, I consider the process to be stupid. Nike.
