Kando Dynamics Turbo

1. the walbro pump ran on my old setup and that ran 18psi without any issues.

2. BSA ran the same manifold setup on his and it held 17 or 19psi.

1. thats good to hear, so test that its still got good consistent fuel pressure, especially under load on the dyno.

2. realistically that accounts for nothing. remember he made the adapter himself, so his could have been a few mm different to yours which could make all the difference. I also recall he had a different size WG tube, but am happy to be corrected. You should also note that he ran it on an RB20 with a completely different turbine housing and wheel, which changes everything.

Am still dubious.

Could even be the turbo! Or Artz' car has some sort of secret squirrel stuff done to it

The rear housing has a nice clean path to the wastegate, plumbed in right at the nozzle of the turbo. Of course it will flow better. Its not magic nor a secret squirrel mod, just good design imo.

Lol..you want secret squirrels talk to Roy..

every mod I have made is well documented in this forum, just depends how much you pay attention to my ramblings.

I think I know the reason it has worked so well, apart from Trent who I took it to on a trailer and he had it running and tuned in, under an hour, awesome stuff,

And scottnm35 who always puts the extra effort into tuning my whack ideas into metal

Im thinking he may have forgot to raise the map limit. When n u send me the tune file tonight ill have a look

Surely he would have noticed that? Gotta be really really worried if he didn't! Noticed the boost plot was for the 1bar run though.

TBH, i wouldn't be suprised after the last issue with my "boost issue" which was just the EBC set incorrectly.

the boost plot is only for the 1bar run, but from what i saw, the 1.2 and 1.4 bar runs was just flat line like the 1bar, no issues there.

Sorry guys, my comment was another reference to dori34's posts over in the HG thread lol. Scott, I really should have got you to make me an intake pipe in exchange for...my remaining Sougi lol.

i hope it doesn't come to the manifold having to be replaced.

we'll see, i'm taking it to Jez's place next weekend

I would think taking that centre bit out of the manifold is a bad idea. because the turbo isn't centered you have 4 cylinders of pressure on one side pushing against 2 from the other makes for uneven flow pattern. If it turns out to be the culprit piss it off and get a hybrid topmoumt I'm dying to see how well it would work :P

Failing that my guess is you have fuel delivery issues, but it's just a guess..

If its an issue with the manifold i still have my stock one in the shed man, let me know how you go  Or you can go high mount and be hektic like me

hey mate, the splitter/divider is still on the manifold, it hasn't been removed.

the hybrid NZ manifolds do look very good value for $$ spent.

i will hit u up if it does come to that, but i hope not.

Yes the splitter is still in the manifold, and then there is a gate tube which merges it before it gets to the turbo.

Need to consider that the gas that goes through the manifold would pressurize the gate tube and pose a restriction on its flow path to the turbo. If it was after the merge it would be a completely different story.

I'm sure that could be arranged but has Racepace done it already? What did it end up costing?

How many bottles do you have left? I think there's still 6 in my shed...

that sounds feasible.

well i will let Jez have a look and see if he can find anything abnormal, otherwise, the only thing left is the hardware.

will know by next weekend.

Only got 2 x S6000 bottles left lol. I'll be switching to Syn X 6000 after that or using up the rest of the M5000. I dunno, they've had my car for two days now and that was first on the list of items so they've probably done it already...they said $250-$450 depending on what's required to fab it. Hope it's at the lower end of the scale :/

You aren't using Unique automotive are you? Few of my mates had quite a bit of trouble with the tuner there and even ended up blowing a mates motor up while tuning it.

Looking at the graph, it would have nothing to do with the manifold/turbo or gate...

Something else is funky... I would be taking to someone else is that was the result

Yeah, its going to DVS JEZ next weekend

Unique Automotive in Villawood, often mistaken for Unique Auto Sports in Seven Hills.

if it is the correct one in Villawood, care to share more info and your experience with him?

cheers

Yeah Unique automotive in villawood, he tuned my friends turbo excel, well tried to atleast. They told him to tune it on no more then 10psi, but he ended up incorrectly setting the boost controller to 18psi. Was also overheated on the dyno 3 times.
