The TD06H and 12cm combo would not be an all out performer in terms of response..

I have emailed Kando advising them I recommend an open-rear internal gate T3 10cm rear housing for their turbos. He seemed to like the idea, but I would not recommend you hold your breath.

TD06SL2-20G with 8cm housing is a known good thing on an RB20.

Roy has used a TD06-20G to make 260rwkw. The SL2 wheel is cropped variant so is a little lighter and produces a little more power. Roy noted earlier than he saw little difference between a couple of variants yet I believe there could have been more variables to consider.

SR20s generally run an 8cm SL2 20G and produce good results. While I think an SR is a better flowing motor than an RB (especially a 20), I think the RB20 will still produce a good result for the said option.

8cm housings can be had with both 3 bolt trust style housings OR silvia specific T518Z housings. Be it myself I would be buying a TD05H-18G with T518Z housing, internal gate and running a T3 to T2 adapter on the RB20 with a custom dump pipe. I think that would give 240rwkw with some real rip.

I've never seen a bone stock internal SR20DET make 260+kw on pump fuel?! From my experience, even calling an SR20 better flowing than an RB20 is quite a stretch, let alone RBs in general. Using how SR20s go with a particular turbo would more accurately be what minimum power figure to expect with an RB20, but also bear in mind RB20s low down/midrange tend to be lazier for a given peak power than an SR20.

RB20 will happily spin all day every day to 8000+rpm in stock form... See how many times you can do that in a SR :)

You may be a few hundred rpm back down low but 1000+rpm up top

could post around 20 or so 280-300rwkw graphs of unopened sr's. Peak power between rb20 and sr20 is generally the same but we need to run more boost to get it... rb20 is also lazier onto boost but you have the extra rpm to use it... just need to wind in more boost to keep the numbers climbing

Thats interesting, with completely stock engines (including cams etc) the SR20s I have seen here seem to usually hit a wall at around 220kw or so on 98 if you are going to be sensible about boost while RB20s will happily venture past 250kw. Psi for psi the RB20s usually seem to have it (ie, outright engine flow). I am more curious about how my flatmates S14 track car will go, now - I had assumed we would need E85 and a healthy dose of boost to give it a little madness.

damnit posted wrong one. >_<

meant this one..

what power you after? i've never used one... but cant imagine it being a dog. I have however used a few internal gate l2 variants and they sucked hard.

yeah I,ve been told to go external sl2..

dunno 250-280 with boost by 3500

cant find any dynos at all on 25s though just a few comments saying they,re ok. and awesome on rb20s..

and a couple of old dynos that looked at bit slow onto power..

Sucked in what way? Please elaborate as me and Arthur are both considering venturing down the TD06SL2 20G 10cm road with our 2.5s

Also, Lith, NS.com has quite a few upper 200 SL2 powered SR20s noting minimal modifications. Roy has seen 260 out of his camed example RB20 and seems to be searching HARD for more. There is also very limited example of 20g comps doing more than that on RB25s on this forum. Youtube exhibits Jap 20g SR's and 1JZ's at 400ps on hub dynos. I will note that the said SR's dont plot any worse than 300kw RB25.

Anyway, this isnt SR20forum.com so forget I mentioned it and no hard feelings about my fabled SR you will probably never see :P

hi trent, yeah if you could email the dyno sheets to me that would be awsome. send them to [email protected] . thanks. ill be ringing you soo to bring the car back in, ive done some more work on some of the things we talked about, fixed the top pipe(moved it away from the turbo), sort out injectors, ive gone up to a permaseal MLS exhaust gasket, ARP exhaust studs, getting the broken stud sorted, im also moving the AFM into the cooler piping, and going to run 4" into the turbo. still hunting down some rims... 2 many options, so this time round when i bring it in, i think we will look at maybe hitting up 22psi? if you happy to tune it up to that and hopefully we can make a decent improvement, up around 280rwkw would be nice :D. Also, do you think i should look at a bigger fuel pump? i have a walbro 255l/h atm, i was thinking about changing to a dual entry fuel rail, and running a 330l/h fuel pump and rising rate regulator and going up to 800cc injectors. do you think its necessary for the power im aiming at? or is what ive got sufficient.

cheers.

Got mine tuned today :)

More in it but settled here due to injectors near max and valve springs getting loose up top.

Gotta take it for a decent drive before i say too much about how it drives and if i will push for more. Sounds CRAZY!!!! on boost :)
