Not going to buy one but interesting. I presume that it just fools the computer into thinking the throttle is more depressed than it is when in sport mode. We'd probably still be shut down by the factory computer throttle settings anyway? scotty nm35
Correct. I have one, it only plugs into the throttle pedal loom and changes the resistance curve. Good if you want to help control your right foot for economy. Commsman
Sorry but what's "economy"? 11.22L / 100km isn't too bad considering the weight of the M35. I have a theory about getting better economy when having a bit of a go rather than staying off boost as much as possible. I posted about it here http://www.skylinesa...00#entry5578928 and at least one person tended to agree. I'm not sure if I'm on to something but it sounds like a good excuse to me Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/347907-m35-throttle-controller/#findComment-5596820 Share on other sites
Tonkachow
My 3.5 v6 is appalling and it's stock as a rock. , I haven't come close to cracking 400 on inner city driving and believe me I've tried pretty hard. Cannot drive it any softer. I'm seriously wondering if it's worth an aftermarket computer like a Link or something and a complete remap. Is that possible??? Tonkachow
I'd be looking at 350z remaps in your case. How different can it be? (famous last words) Would that be hard?? Maybe I am underestimating the toll of being an auto and AWD and 1800kg with a full tank has on economy, add an extra 100kg for me. I'm sure it's up there in Ford Territory consumption. Was just expecting better economy then my 300kw 33 GTR. Daleo
Had a bit of a google; http://www.350z-tech.com/forums/148-australia/68022-remap-rpm-factory-ecu.html Direct Quote from that forum; I believe the guys at SAS in Silverwater may be able to help.

They can reflash stock ECU's, give em a call.

www.dynotuning.com.au/ Might be easier than you think... Daleo
The other thing, maybe a freer flowing (doesn't have to be loud) exhaust & cat(s)and a high flow air filter might improve the situation a little. Every mod I've done to mine, whilst improving power when you're up it, has resulted in a reduction in fuel consumption, when you're taking it easy. I know turbo's are different, but there must be some potential for improvement, and teamed with a remap it could end up paying for itself in fuel saving. All depends how far down the rabbit hole you want to go. What I find with mine is that the Mrs drives a relatively short distance to work - 10/15 mins each way. This gets the engine to operating temp ( I don't know about gearbox diffs etc) only just. So a lot of time is spent on rich mixture- getting about 450 from a tank. Now, If I take the car for a spin, or we do a longer run, the consumption drops drastically. like in the 10km/L driving up old pac giving it some stick. 12'skm/L on the computer on the F3. I have also had mine on a AWD Dyno. Yes it does run rich (unfortunately I had 95 in it at the time, So i will do it with 98 sometime in the future) somewhere in the range of 11.5AFR at full noise, and about 12.9 was the leanest it saw throughout the whole range. What that says is yes, benefits in both power and economy can be made from some tuning. But you'd want to go with someone who is experienced. Other than that- buy a prius and save the planet Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/347907-m35-throttle-controller/#findComment-5597239 Share on other sites
Tonkachow
SAS did tune my GTR and that's who I was thinking but Advan are very familiar with the Lin and there out western syd somewhere . I believe doing this will def be offset by the fuel saving in 12 months easy. I've been driving around today in tiptronic all day after fueling up this morning and my average has dropped dramatically. Daleo might be onto something Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/347907-m35-throttle-controller/#findComment-5597261 Share on other sites
