Sydney.. help?

Hey y'all new south walesers,

I am flying in to Sydney early friday morning, and need to get from the airport to Manly where I am staying. Not knowing a flying feck about the layout and transport systems in Sydney, I was wondering if you guys could help. Is there a train? Bus? I was thinking of getting to the city somehow then catching the ferry over? How far is it from the airport to the city (taxi-wise)? Cheers!

Not from that area of Sydney but a combination of Train + Bus or Train + Ferry should be pretty easy.

Hey dude..

There is a few ways to get to manly.

a. Get a train from the airport to central, change to the quey line and catch a ferry to manly.

b. Train to chatswood and bus to manly

c. Train to city, bus to manly

easiest would be a train to circular quay then the ferry across to manly

A taxi to the city will be about $25 and all the way to Manly about $60. Ferry ride is well worth it for the views.

Go the jetcat - it takes 15 mins less than the ferry - also you get to hear the turbo's spool on the big cummins/cat ??? diesel motors - Now that's some serious HP.

Cheers guys! Train then ferry it is. (I have heard however that recently your ferries have a tendency to carry out unplanned rennovations to your jetties).

I was also looking at your public transport fare prices... fugin hell!! It's almost cheaper to get a taxi!!

haha yeh a couple of ferry's have crashed into the quay over the last few weeks

Agree Tosh - I do it every day - I'm used to the view - although I don't get bored of it, I am often running late for work and need to catch up on the time ha ha ha ha
