Are Chassis Rails & Sills Repairable?

hi all,

i was considering a vspec2 gtr, however, the chassis rails & sills are badly pushed in...can these be repaired or should i stay clear?

i would suggest you don't buy another shell you not 100% on.

I replaced a bent cefiro shell with a shell that i was under the impression was in ok condition after a rear quarter replacement. was bitterly disappointed it was a lemon.

if your that pedantic that your replacing the shell because of bad paint i would stay clear of damaged sills and rails as you will never be happy with it.

mostly any thing is repairable, although panel beaters may charge a bit too much compared to others that have done similar work on a regular basis

questions to ask is the chassis straight and not twisted, it can be dented but the structure still be straight or vise versa

I have the same problem with my prelude, fixable according to smash repairs, but about $500 per one (all 4 points), so it is running into quite a lot.

the thought of cutting the rails to repair though, or do they panel beat them back out?

My front chassis rails had to be cut and boxed, looked similar to what you show there. The rest of your pics look nasty though..

I'd stay clear of this.

Chassis rails can often be cut and boxed (ie resectioned)

thanks guys - im picking a standard red gtr tomorrow (94 model)

the rails on this good a bit better
