Oil does indeed have a shelf life, i believe its around 4-5 years as per Mobil or Castrol i think which state this.

Throw it in the bin.

Why would you store oil for 13 years?

personally i would pour the oil on the fence as it stops the wood from drying out and kills the weeds

+1. when i lived out on the farm, everytime i used to change the oil i'd tip the old oil on a different fence post around the yard. works well at stopping them rotting, etc.

So the whole breaking down thing... That because oil is organic right?¿

So what about full synthetic oils... Are they still organic based & would they break down?

surely not....oil is from plants that broke down millions of years ago!
