Here is a quick DIY on how to fit the PSI Parts carbon fibre foglight/indicator covers that I organised to get made in this group buy:

The install is very easy and only requires basic tools and basic mechanical skill.

TOOLS REQUIRED

12mm spanner

Philips head screwdriver

Flat head screwdriver

First of all use a 12mm spanner to remove the two bolts that hold the entire housings onto the front bumper:

You will find the two bolts located in these positions:

You will need to remove it out at an angle because there is a clip on the outside that holds it in place and also remove the electrical plug.

There is 6 screws that hold the cover onto the housing, remove these screws:

Now simply remove the cover and put the new carbon covers on (with one of my covers I found that the factory screws were a bit to thin to be used on the new covers so I simply purchased some slightly thicker ones). If the screws don't perfectly line up with the mounts, just use a flathead screwdriver to gently push them into position. They shouldn't need much of an adjustment though:

Put it all back together in the reverse process and you are done :)

I'm very happy with how they turned out and the fitment is virtually perfect. The carbon weave is gorgeous and it definetely gives a unique look to the series II factory front bumper.

Cheers

Phil

freaking sweet!! every time i see your car it has more tastfully placed carbon :) top notch.

main thing ive been looking at doing is replacing the orange lenses with some clear ones and orange bulbs. would make it look even smoother. but the design of the two peices makes it alot more work than it should be considering theyre the same diameter :(

*just read the group buy thread. seems like you guys beat me too it :)

still got the spare set of carbon surrounds??

    • Hey all, I'm sorry if this has been discussed before.  I have a 2008 Japanese import V36 coupe with nav but without Bose. I bought one of those AliExpress android screens, which for the most part works really well.  The only thing that doesn't work is the air con controls (well sort of) and the factory reverse camera.  The AC can be controlled fine but it doesn't report the change in temp and mode to the screen, and the volume knob/other audio controls from the panel don't register on the learning app.  I am pretty certain that the problem is the difference in the head unit between base model (Nav but no Bose) 2007-2009 coupes and anything after 2009.  Mine is the one with the blue connector all the way to the right as seen in this forum post:  The reason I think this is there is one wire left over that doesn't fit anywhere on this head unit, or in the factory screen which also uses different connectors to more recent versions.  I've seen the upgrade from OWC, and have sent the guy a message on eBay but no response yet.  I also don't particularly need the whole kit, just *maybe* an adapter for this one cable.  Did anyone else here have the same problem, or have any insight about what I can do to get this working?  I have been in contact with the seller but all they seem to be able to do is ask for more pictures and videos. Minor edit to add:  I have been researching and found a screen on Aliexpress that actually specifies my head unit in the listing, so these things do exist.  I will contact the seller to see if the wiring adapters are interchangeable with other screens.   Thanks in advance!
