Now that I have finally done the traffic training I can say the police have no power at all to request vass certificate. Can only send you to get rwc and up to mechanic to request vass. Would say from the training that 90% of nou issued incorrectly

this makes me sad

as a resolution to the story i went and got a full VASS from Archy Robertson in Bayswater, he did the work himself strengthening the hole i had cut for the front mount and a few other bits and pieces, all topping $1500. as it happened this Angelo bloke happened to be going to Archy for something else that day and i was able to get in inspected and cleared that day.

car is now sold so much time and $$$ wasted when i could have fought it.
