here is a copy of the current dyno with the previous (before exhaust and pipe from cooler to plenum were changed)

a very worthwhile gain considering cost was minimal. If only all power upgrades were as cheap:)

sorry the dyno is so messy, I wrote the previous dyno in by pencil

Tim,

I'm still running a RB20DET box, Its staying in there until it dies. Which shouldn't be too long as its been whining (input shaft bearing) for the last 2 years. Only thing that has saved it is a softish clutch.

But yer the RB25DET G/box handles from what I have seen up to 350rwkw no problems.

Steve,

good to hear the good results after all the R&D you've done. good effort.

can i ask how much you paid for your A/R .87 HKS turbine housing?

Also, do u still have your A/R .61 housing? If so, care to sell it?

(PM me if required)

The pipe from the plenum to cooler was upgraded 2.5" to 3", boost control seems fine, and yes solenoid is the same as AVCR AFAIK

Anybody who hasnt guessed yet, whatsisnames dyno is the blue line that is overlayed on my pre/post exhaust comparison dyno. Very fat there Matt, it will be interesting to see how the cars go side by side on the dyno day, as during your run (on my dyno), it was alot hotter than when I ran mine:)

RS500, cheers, the housing cost around $500, from the US, cheaper than from Japan and I have sold the 0.61 already sorry.

hey steve correct me if im wrong but on your power graph isnt the power fluctuating as the revs go higher, same thing happend to mine when i was overboosting on the dyno, had to adjust the wastegate to get a smoother curve..

What sort of power is OBEHAVE making?

That thing really smokes up when it hits second (Auto). Sounds awesome.

OBEHAVE's 10.9 128mph 1/4 run mpg over here - http://www.fullboost.com.au/vidzz/fullBOOS...3_12_obehve.avi

Watch it leave the black lines on the strip as it starts to pull hard and drift to the right.

Luv that zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz noise from the tyres, brings back memorys of my first car the burn out machine TE 250 Cortina. :D

wreckhead, how did you adjust your wastegate.

I am sure that the power fluctuating is the wastegate. I had just changed to a spring 3lbs heavier, and had to adjust my duty cycle to stop it spiking. The power fc boost control takes a few goes to 'learn' its boost control accurately. I have found in the past that they will spike a bit at first, but settle down after a few runs.

    • Hi all, Restoring r33 series 1 rb25det. All the heater hoses were on their way out, have replaced them and put it all back together. After testing I noticed a small leak from behind the head on the actual metal water line to the turbo when cars warm. I tried running a longer hose over it but it kept leaking...   I am about to take the (stock) manifold off again😔 to change the water line does any one have any lines they recommend? I was looking at Aeroflow Turbo Oil & Water Line Set but not sure what everyone else recommends. Car is completely stock but want to upgrade turbo eventually. it looks like ill have to disconnect a lot just to replace these lines so if there's anything else recommended to do please let me know. Thank you in advance!
    • From memory, on the R33 GTSt at least, while everyone says "It's not adjustable", I found when I changed clutches in mine, it just needed a small adjustment on the rod length. But be very wary here, as you could end up trying to push the pushrod in the master too far, or blowing out the slave.   Most likely though, if the master/slave isn't bypassing internally or leaking out, then the throw out is the wrong height compared to the fingers on the clutch, so when it moves to disengage the clutch, it isn't 100% disengaged. You can check part of this out too by jacking the car up, having the engine running, put your foot on the clutch and try to engage 1st gear. If it goes in pretty easy (Compared to the ground) and/or the wheels start turning a fair bit and it takes a bit too much brake pedal to bring them back to a stop, this is likely the issue.  I'm not sure if you can adjust the height of the forks etc in these though, it's been that long since I've touched any RB gearbox.
    • That's all good, I thought I was missing some interesting feature! Maybe @PranK can double check if that is something that is meant to be operating or not.
    • I hope that is not something that bad. From what i remember he said that only first gear is "hard" to get in and that he has couple of ideas what to try next but idk 😕  hope it is not gearbox out. I will let you know.
    • If it's not the hydraulics, it is probably gearbox back out. Usually as per @Duncan's post, or otherwise associated with not getting the throwout fork positioned correctly. All the way up to catastrophically bolting shit back together without it being aligned properly and wrecking the clutch/input shaft/flywheel/something else.
