bought some yellow paint from supercheap (guessed the colour) and finally painted the rust under the mirrors and the knock on the front bumper

just loading it up atm for the trip to tassie on sunday :)

to the guys with the heat shielding, round the corners on the sheets and they will be less likely to peel off

Fitted some single piece braided brake lines to the front today, big thanks to Chuckie for the help (sourcing and fitting)

What a difference! Already had slotted RDA 350Z rotors, EBC greenstuff pads and a master cylinder stopped so while it doesn't stop as well as my 32, it does pretty damn well for a bus. The braided lines have improved braking response tremendously, instant bite!

started installing the black interior! did 4 doors, the top half of the boot and the lower half of the dash. its gonna look good in black :)

lol my sister wrote her car off yesterday(well i hope it is) im gonna take her black V35 interior i might buy it back lol

Had a leak in the dump pipe repaired.

Polished the cam covers.

Polished the crossover pipe.

Replaced all the turbo manifold gaskets.

Inspected the turbo while it was off and its still in good nick.

its ok, mine was for under the mirrors and a scrape on the bumper so was better than it was

will take some pics but i won't be able to get them up for a while

GB Swaybars went on yesterday- before it got stupid hot in Sydney. Back was easy, Front-one prick nut was putting up a fight. Rear sensor had to be re-aligned to fit because of the adjustable bits on the bar. Other than that, all smooth and good! Great improvement when driving. Will drive more :woot:

On the LHS rear sway I think they added some sort of roll sensor. Its a Bosch unit, that measures body roll via the bar movement. Can only think it does something for the AWD system, as there is no stability control. Maybe ABS...?

pity they didn't strengthen the rear mounts... I've got the same ones as everyone else. >_<

I replaced a sidelight this morning from the top. removed the airbox etc etc... very enjoyable. Hope it doesn't go again anytime soon- could they have found a harder to get to place?

now dump it! :P

First I have to pull some camber out of the rear as it's eatting tyres silly fast. Also have to get some springs made up for the front so I can drop it and keep the spring rate I want. I'm also needing some front camber arms and some SA spec bolt-ons..... :rofl2:

Then dropped :D

Made it to tamworth

The rad flush I did had moved all the crap about and the I think the rad is blocked, saw 111°c on the ecutalk display and had to start using the heater to cool it down :(

38°c out side and the heater on full = fail, just 1300 kms to go, temps are between 80 and 95 now, just don't have time to get it sorted cos we are tight on time :-(

We'll get there tho

111c wow thats not good at all :S hope you didn't cook anything mate

yeah it works out which way the car is turning and how much power to direct to the front wheels

i wonder if you can spin the rears or get it sideways easier now as the car will sit flatter? or maybe it will be worse?

    • The Frenchy's kit is the way to go forward. A modern compressor that weighs about 1/2 as much, is at least twice as efficient, and will do a good job on R134a. And of course the kit has everything else you need to connect it up and have it work properly.
    • Hey all , I am in the process of having the AC system in my r32 GTST converted from r12 to r134a and I’m being told my compressor has gone bad and I will need a new one. I was wondering if anybody has any suggestions for what is the best route to go aside from dropping $1500 on a new oem one? I did see that Frenchy’s performance garage offers a kit to mount a Toyota compressor, has anybody actually used this kit on their car? Or is there anywhere I could purchase just a clutch? Any help is appreciated.
    • Well, your RB20 ECU loom won't have wires for the boost solenoid, that boost sensor, and possibly one or two other things. There could be differences in seemingly random things like the charcoal canister purge solenoid, because the 25DET has to handle boost in the vacuum system and the 20DE does not. I don't know - I haven't looked. It is very likely that all the most important things are same-same, being the main sensors like AFM, CAS, etc, and the injectors and ignition. Not that you'll need the AFM for the Haltech anyway. I would suggest that you would seriously want to sit down with the pinouts for both ECUs and just go through them and highlight green what is the same, orange what is different/missing, and make a plan from there. It's not going to be difficult. It will either be the same or need to be fixed.
    • yeaaa that's why I haven't done any wiring to the stock ecu harness because I have the haltech, but then that leads me to the other question of "is the pnp harness really plug and play?" or would I have to still switch some pins/wires over because the pnp is for the rb25det neo harness, and not for the rb20de neo harness. was really hoping to find something to spoon feed me since so many people have done rb20neo + t conversions, but man this is rough.
    • Temu raptor, lol. At least the owner isn't your typical ranger danger lot
