Got rid of the old paper job and dropped in a K&N filter yesterday. I'm probably imagining it but it feels a little bit more responsive on the pedal. :woot:

Nah, I reckon they make a noticeable difference too.

Finally got some time to fit the greddy oil cooler to the car.....only problem is I am having to move the power steering cooler! :(

Other than needing new tyres and a power steering cooler......also the new rear wing the car is safe to go to the track finally.

I thought Scotty had said his oil cooler makes no real difference?

Oh, and to my Stagea, this weekend I finally got the wideband bung welded in, so just need to wire it up now. Also getting closer to sorting the Fcon out, looking to change some of the wiring around to run the HKS sensors instead of the stockers.

No real difference to performance that is correct!....however the temps generated at full song on a track are a little different....every bit helps. Even if I only do 3 lap sprints "at my pace" on short tracks and it keeps the temps down it will be great. My only stuff up today was that I didn't put the sensor in the sandwich play before filling the oil.

Definitely need the oil cooler for the track, as well as a huge trans cooler and the power steering. Not much room left in the front of mine now. With a massive 30 row oil cooler that has a 14 inch thermo mounted to it, my oil still got to 110 degrees at PI, the water hovered around 91 with the stock radiator.

My car let me down today. :( The throttle became unresponsive and I had to crawl home at 20-30kph. (after pulling the throttle plug for some more revs.) I suspected Leon's cruse at first so I disconnected it, no change. Swapped the throttle pedal over, still the same. I even pulled the ecu plug and checked the loom, no problems. It turned out to be the throttle body itself which is unusual, I haven't heard of one failing before. At least I have a few laying around I guess. The best part is it idles on 700 again instead of 1000 revs. Win.

I think the tps shat itself, it read 2.5v continuously at idle. I guess it was in limp mode but I didn't have to reset anything once the new throttle was in... I had a similar experience at PI, had to pit as the car wouldn't rev. It ran fine again once I restarted the car.

Dropped the oil yesterday - well, I started on Sat - but after putting the oil flush in I couldn't find the extra 2L of 300v...and shops were closed..so had to finish it off on Sunday.

Anyway, its good to be driving again....

Unless you want to be looking at a constant CEL and an unhappy ECU, I'd be leaving the stock sensors in as well as running the Fcon sensors.

I mentioned that, but apparently you can set it up so the F-con only reads the input from the sensors as they're fed into the stock ECU.

Can't run both apparently.

Which sensors?

I run both, I just cut the wire at the fcon end and can swap between them with bullet connectors. The stock ecu still gets the stock sensor signal as the patch loom goes straight through.

Cam, what were my errors again? I am keen to get rid of them all now. I remember the stock o2 was missing...

I didn't unplug any OEM sensors when I ran the Fcon as I didn't want the damn CEL on all the time.

I'm sure the Fcon can be set up to read the HKS IAT and MAP sensors and ignoring the ECU's feedback for these.

Buggered if I know. Like there is a chance I'm remembering the one that couldn't be removed - let alone the one that were removed!

I'm glad i'm not the only one with a failing memory. :P

I don't know how it works. The guys are modifying the harness to take the HKS sensors and have looked at the VQ25DET ECU pin out to get it all working. I'll see how it goes when it's on.
