I replaced my castor bushings with superpro ones. When getting an alignment done, the castor was slightly different between the wheels but it hasn't proven to be a big deal. However if I were to replace the bushes again I would have just bought adjustable arms.

That must make it Adelaide cruise time! There are a few people keen for a Feb cruise.

I did really exciting things to my car: I retuned the throttle. *YAWN* Feels better though.

Omg a m35 has new wheels def time for a adelaide cruise lmao

Nah they look good dunc cant wait to see them on .

But all jokes aside def time for a adelaide cruise

Considering he's had the car off the road for months and missed a years worth of cruises, I think it's warranted.

Lol i love stirring 35 boys up always get a bite, hey my car was off the road for 9 mths came back on with engine transplant 19" wheels an 340kw. So hell yeah lets cruise lol its warranted lol.

This :) (yes my car needs a clean, and yes its black, Haven't looked for a matching grey paint yet).

I run one of these on my head unit.

Micro SD to USB adaptor.

So neat and out of the way. Less likely to knock it and bust your usb input port. It barely sticks out lol.

Neat job you did on the gauge intstall and surround.

I received a red and yellow box today with the same two letters repeated. Wating on another box to arrive with HKB on it.

Thanks guys :)

Yeah made it up, was quite a bit of work.

Just a few pics from the weekends work;

@Jezboosted Thats handy :) I'm going to a difference system all together so no more of this front usb crap I can't stand it getting it the way of my cup holders when i throw a maccas cup in there haha.

Spent 3 hours with a red sharpie permanent marker fixing the sun-bleached red stitching because my car has spent soooooo much time sitting in the sun at my mech having work done. That, and the fact that I only have a carport available until my under-house 4 car spots are ready...

On a brighter not, my internals arrived on Monday and went straight to the machine shop, where my block is waiting: hopefully I'll be looking at an almost complete engine in the next week, then it's being on the run-in week of driving pleasure!!

Destroyed a new $1600 clutch at willowbank last night! Whatever holds the throw out bearing in the pressure plate (pull type clutch) decided to fail

So started the process of pulling out the box, had to cut the front drive shaft bolts with a grinder because a un named favorite business on here who fitted the clutch rounded the nuts off.

took out the gauge cluster out of the m35 (volts boost torque) removed the boost and installed a 30psi autometer one in its place. works a treat and for the first time since scotty did all the mods i know how much boost its running hahah

get a hdi EBC with digital gauge.

Craig had nothing but problems with his HDI and I am now of the opinion a good mechanical option is best. He already has my HD actuator fitted, and the manual bleeder is a solid performer. No need for the defectable electronic options imo, even though they allow slightly better response. (due to the little spike they give.)

Although, some EBC's have an overboost warning, this is more important than a boost gauge I feel.

+1

No difference in performance between the hdi and turbosmart T.....Ive been swapping between tge 2 for weeks.

The only really difference is the hdi spikes like a mofo and the T maintains control.

    • So, the other thing I've sorted is a baseline dyno run up at Unigroup's new location. The auto trans was a little unco-operative by both shifting down when the throttle was floored on the dyno (so Mark had to ramp it up more slowly than in a manual) and also by shifting up at 6,000 even in sports mode instead of the indicated redline of 7,000 Still, on a hot day it made 240rwkw at 16psi which seems about right for 300kw (400hp) through an auto at the wheels.  The shape of the curve is not quite right because it was not full throttle to about 4,500 to stop it kicking down, but until I can get a tune on the auto trans control this was the best we could do.....full boost will be well below 5,000 once that is sorted, I'll get some data logs when I can to confirm For comparison, the R32 made 255 at 12psi (at 4,500) on the same dyno with tune, n1 turbos, cam gears, big exhaust but otherwise all standard so the v37 is likely a little better out of the box. One thing that is very clear is that the standard water to air intercoolers are not up to sustained use at full throttle in warm ambient temps. After about 5 runs (so only a few minutes full throttle), it was pulling boost and timing and dropping 10-15% power. Unfortunately I didn't get that printout and the Unigroup guys are away at the moment, will try and get hold of it on their return. So, looks like a healthy engine to start modifying and the only real area of concern is the w2a heat exchangers which the aftermarket has plenty of solutions for
    • I maintain it actually looked really nice in person. So much so that I thought "No, this is illegal" but there it was, clear as day. I think we can easily call the wing and wheels/height to be transformative. Not saying it's better than the GR Whatever, or the 86, or the WRX STI or anything of that sort (the internet says it all bolts up so you can buy best of all worlds?) but it's still at least a thing and not nearly AS bad as people say.
    • That's less offensive than the previous gen.....except for all that ugly black tupperware around the edges. Blerck!
    • I leant out the window recently and took a picture of this new WRX. It looked real damn fine in person. It's faster around a track (stock) than a (stock) GR Yaris. It's much more practical despite being heavier. It's significantly cheaper. This gen tunes really well, much better than others. .... I think they're probably a lot better than people expect.
    • WRXs are a pure pleb boring car these days. You need to get an STI to even get close to what a WRX used to be.
