Just make sure the thread isn't stainless, two of Jase's plugs nearly seized in the head. I thought I was going to have to helicoil it, luckily they freed up with some WD. I have never had this happen before with NGK's.

My next set may be NGK racing plugs in 8 heat range. Can you suggest anything else that cold?

Your bed?

What effect does E85 have on plug range? I would have thought E85 would have allowed for a hotter range (colder than stock, but not an 8) plug due to its Octane rating.

The high octane rating means more oxygen in the fuel = burns hotter. The 7's seem fine but the tuner wants 8's to cool the combustion chamber down more. There is certainly a lot of heat in there, imagine the heat 8L of ethanol can produce when burnt (within a minute.)

I would hate to think how much crank HP it's putting out, this auto is leeching power like crazy.

Installed swaybars last weekend now I have a knock in the front. Any idsas.

Hey Josh,

It will probably be the Lateral Locks fouling.

Get front of the car on some ramps and loosen the lateral locks so that you can index them to have the maximum amount of clearance; they are oval in section, so you should be able to get them in the right spot.

Don't forget to nip them back up when you're done.

This part needs to be done with the suspension at your normal ride height; the sway bars change their index position as the suspension droops.

I think some people have linished a small amount of material off them in the past to get some extra clearance; but you shouldn't have to do this, as the Locks were redesigned a while ago to give more clearance

If you have any more issues; please let me know, OK?

Good luck, .

Cheers, Dale.

I've sworn at it a lot lately ..lol

cheers

Seriously who cares ! But on a more interesting note I fixed my quad phaser tri bandwidth flux compactor by re triangulating the Zion crystals . I can now pick up the mars space rover and control the volume from my steering wheel . It's increased killa wasps by three bees dicks

D1 spec boost and oil pressure gauge coming, quality looks fairly good for the price. Factory boost gauge is in a stuoid un practical place.

Ordered kakimoto r from streeter

Then too harass scotty for parts...

You're certainly having a bad run with it Ryan, is it set up for map or still on the afm?

Just drive the damn thing over here one weekend mate. ;)

What did you do to your stagea today!

Results fkn!

Almost ready to do that Scotty, but it seems like once you've got the bastard setup right the tuning is easy..

These idiots didn't listen or do as I asked, so it's setup to use the AFM. Once its retuned on the HKS MAP and IAT sensors, it should be right.

RTR dyno day, managed a 290kw run on their Mainline dyno. Very happy to get within 30-40kw of a tuned 35 gtr though with my stock baby VQ. :)

The tuner had issues with 3rd gear kickdown, he would have nearly shat. Then wheelspin from not being strapped down well enough.

Many sad people, it isn't a happy dyno.

Bit of an update.

My cars been off the road for about 2 weeks getting all the little problems fixed.

Oil leak above the turbo fixed

Wastegate gap fixed

Steering rack fixed

Lower ball joints done

Steering cooler remounted

Catch can's in

Engine oil cooler remounted

Venting in the guards done

Ducting to the coolers done

remounted boost sensor restrictor

**cough - Blitz sonic mounted

So just waiting on my new Nismo exhaust and the front bar and the car's back on the road.

Looking good mate.. suprised you went with a pod :P

Also suprised your still running stock bov? Hasnt given you any leakage problems with high boost?

Hate pod's(this one has gaides).....but I'll see how this goes.....lot's of ducting going to it and I've made some addition heat shields. My standard airbox has fallen apart due to the race radiator crushing and frying it so if the pod doesn't work I'll have to make up a complete new one.

The standard BOV is fine.....It's run 26 PSI with no hassles at all.

All things going well on the tune I should gain about 10-20KW's safely on the dyno. Then it's track time again!......with gay 8.5" 19's!

About 3 weeks ago i also put these in my car along with soctty's actuator mod. and have his coolant mod sitting there waiting to go in.

    • Um. No. Since Matt introduced the TIM it has become a lot easier to deal with the consequences of changing K for AFM and injector swaps. Then, tuning is a f**king doddle. No-one needs to know or care how many grams of air are flowing or any other bullshit. Need more fuel in a cell? Add more fuel. Need more timing in a cell. Add more timing. Need to adjust any of the other tables for warm up and so on? No harder than anything else. Sure - it's not an ECU system for starting from scratch on an arbitrary engine. But then.....it was never supposed to be, not recommended for, and almost never used that way. So.... On your engine, in particular, Nistune/Nissan OEM is about as sophisticated and difficult as banging 2 rocks together. Those ECUs are primitive and simple. There is nothing difficult there. I learnt Nistune from scratch, created new maps with extended axes, interpolated/extrapolated the original maps onto them and tuned my RB20 (basically the same ECU as your 26 ECU) all by myself, more than 20 years ago. And that was long before even TIM.
    • Set of knee pads for a R34. Will fit every model I think. Comes with everything except the rubber covers for the bolt holes. Still in great condition. You will need to drill holes to mount these or use double sided tape. I can do free shipping and will be shipping from the Netherlands with tracking.
    • Nistune needs something like an entire excel spreadsheet in which you build an abstraction layer that converts everything from real units you can actually measure into all of the various tables. The number of unexpected dependencies hiding in how the Nissan ECUs do math is a pretty impressive optimization trick for 8-bit MCUs but good god is it awful to actually work with in practice.
