Heard a creaking noise from the front brakes. So took the pads out, scuffed them up ( good to do anyway) checked tightness which was fine, cleaned and reassembled using a couple of little dollops of Grease on the pins where it looked to be touching in the caliper. See how it goes. HPX pads are lasting ages compared to the pMu pads.

Are you running 32GTR brakes?

Nice. I was going to say "didnt know they bolted up to muranos" but i didnt. Trying to hold back on the smartassness.

I think even Muranos have two pot front brakes, which is more than your car ;)

Drove down south for new years, filled car up to just a smidge over half a tank.

The drive is 90% freeway driving @110km.

Got home and the trip meter read 406km with tank pretty much empty (fuel light on), pretty happy with the fuel economy considering its not stock anymore.

Next drive over the nullabour?? to give you east coast guys a run :yucky:

^When my petrol light comes on, there's usually 15L left in my tank (assuming it's 80L?). When there's about 10L left, some nice Japanese lady invades my speakers to let me know it's getting near empty. She sounds hot.

Picked up a factory wing from the wreckers. I don't think I'll get it resprayed to match my car. I think the black looks okay, considering the other black adornments on the car. IMO, not worth the hassle of paint matching it.

Also, replaced the factory double DIN stereo fascia for a two single DIN fascia. I'm not 100% happy with the fitment, but it was a rush job as I was going away for the weekend. A few problems: Storage bay clips were snapped, so put in a self tapper to stick them on. As you can see from the pic, the end result isn't great. Also, my new head deck front plate doesn't come down too easily to reveal the CD player. AND the factory screen gets stuck when trying to pop it up :( I will just leave it up for now.

Oil catch can installed and out of harms way.

Next job today collect scotty dump pipe & front pipe from freight depot, then attempt to disrupt my mates day cause he owns a hoist and get to work installing.

And you're off & racing  .

Good spot for catch can. My passenger side one is there too.

For those who may not have seen the scotty dump pipe here it is. Sensational.

Looks set to expell five times spent gasses amount on my trolley.

Fingers crossed installed tonight...

Just remember to drop the gearbox to level the engine for easier(used loosely) access. And a muzzle for the swearing that will ensue.

    • Update time!  The JZX110 had some maintenance needing to be done, so a lot of the seals with replaced to fix some oil leaks. Also used this opportunity to whack on a front mount that I'd bought some time ago.  I also finally got the rear lip painted and fitted.  I then got the exhaust done. It's just a catback for now. Custom made 3" stainless with a turn down. I could have a tip coming out, but it will require cutting the rear lip and possibly the bumper itself. So far I do like and it's made the car a little more zippy.  Close out with some nice pictures of the cars and a sneak peek of what's next.

    • Just something I found searching for more info on Emotion R, apparently the ECR33 Skyline GTS25t was either originally black, or there were two of them, the black one being the original demo car, then building a white one which was part of the 1997-onwards (to at least 2008!) Cockpit Tatebayashi Tokyo Auto Salon booth demo cars. It appears that Emotion R closed down in 2008 and was declared bankrupt in 2010: http://bank-db.com/hasan/208365. Scan of a magazine with the black R33 from 1996: Wayback machine archived page from May, 2000: https://web.archive.org/web/20000529061027/http://www.emotion-r.co.jp/skyline.html Option magazine with a few photos from the Cockpit Tatebayashi booth at the Auto Salon from various years: 2002: http://www.jdm-option.com/photo/index.php?action=item&category_id=154&image_id=3507 2003: http://www.jdm-option.com/photo/index.php?action=item&category_id=137&image_id=3033 2005: http://www.jdm-option.com/photo/index.php?action=item&category_id=116&image_id=1831 In 2008 Cusco website mentions that the Cockpit Tatebayashi ECR33 was displayed at that year's Tokyo Auto Salon: https://www.cusco.co.jp/event/2008/12/post_735.html As of 2021 it appears that the ECR33 demo car ended up being exported to Florida, USA: https://rmcmiami.com/inventory/1996-nissan-skyline-r33-cockpit-tatebayashi-demo-car-big-te06-turbo-endless-brakes-lsd-450hp/ And finally here's Google streetview of the Emorion R garage in 2023 which is amazingly not only still there, but the showroom is still full of various parts in stock and funishings, etc.: https://maps.app.goo.gl/ttyEAZdZLyzermyT9 Apologies for nerding out a bit. I used to love doing this 20 years ago on SAU and got a bit nostalgic for a moment... 😅
