What Have You Done To Your Stagea Lately?

Have you done brake lines as we'll? Very interested in doing this

haven't done the brake line. Tried to look for it locally but could find it unless custom made. But so far changing the fresh brake fluid and cusco brake stopper really helps.

Last couple of weeks installed new upper rear ajustsble control arms, new bushes for rear sway bar , new front sway bar bushes, and a new battery on Thursday, got one of those new green battery's from battery world

Going to tackle cleaning my coils and putting electro paste on them to see if I can resolve my miss around the 5k rpm mark

keep us posted on the electro paste results, as far as i know in bad situations the spark can leak and ground into the head area

Headgasket lifted slightly in two spots so engine is out on the yellow pig. While out I will take advantage and replace a few hoses and bibs and bobs while on a stand.

The good news is that the bores look pristine with minimal carbon build up. Not as pretty as an ethanol run engine but not too bad given the number of kms, number of dyno runs and the abuse by Ms Wolv (just daily driving in Sydney) for all those years. While it is out we will refresh with OEM rings and ACL race bearings.

The head is being pressure tested before a complete head service and we can tighten up the valve clearances a whisker to get rid of the slight intermittent tick that has been there since the poncams were installed.

Picked up the stagea today from the panel shop after getting rear ended a week ago. Very happy with the work they done, plus now I am de-badged

Are there any pin holes under the badges other then the Nissan? Id like to remove the AXIS & Autech bagde if possible.

No there isn't, But there is another issue just as big really. From factory they put the badges on while the pain is still soft. So if you remove the badges with out sanding back and respraying it, you will have raised edges around where the badges used to be.

Really the best way to go is to arrange to be rear ended like Josh has done & have your car debadged when it is being repaired.

When I did mine that way a few years back I was given the badges on a cool template to allow me to stick in exactly the right place should I ever get the urge to rebadge.

BTW Josh, I'm no photographer but the potato you used to take that picture of your car needs its lens cleaned, or a steadier hand or something. :)

Written off due to to expensive to repair

Buy it back, and repair; an uneconomic repair write off isn't a statutory write off.

Stupid insurance companies...

Is this the point at which insurance companies become (even more) hypocritical? Surely they couldn't ask much for it at all otherwise they would have spent almost up to the insured value repairing it. I had an offset head-on way back in 1992 (man I sound old now) in a car insured for $8K and the insurers repaired it and gave it back, yet the damage must have been very close to $8K.

IF he wants it back of course.

I had the option of buying my Stagea back for $5k which I declined then watched it sell for under $2k at pickles. Bargain.

Could have fixed it but wanted the PM
