Hmm I thought the dolphin intake was of dubious quality?

I wouldnt say the quality is dubious, its a really solidly constructed unit. The dubiousness would be the effectiveness it has on the restriction that needs to be removed.

It only replaces the black plastic bit between the AFM and the rest of the intake.. obvious the AFM housing is in this photo (not mine) but it illustrates it fairly well.

Dunc should be able to tell us now, but he's probably off driving it to see what it's like!

Have you got any photos of it out of the car Dunc?

Car is boxed into the garage and I cant be bothered moving stuff off the driveway :domokun:

I didnt bother taking any photos of it out of the car, it looks identical (+ engine dirt) to the photos on Dolphins website.. you can see exactly how it mounts up based on the kink compared to the stock plastic unit

I'd be curious if you notice any difference then. It doesn't look like it'll make bugger all difference to me. Same shape, except metal instead of plastic?!

Got my rear sway bar onto my car last night....rear end is working much better.

Bald Hangkangs in the wet with LSD and 2WD is a little bit of fun......note to myself!!.....install windscreen wipers on the passenger and drivers side windows! laugh.gif

What is the plan now? I've seen you in a few different discussions now and it sounds like it might be a bit unique...

Sussing out a few 340mm rotor combinations to run with an R32 GTR caliper/ offset bracket. If it works out, I'll detail the whole thing; could be a budget monster upgrade.

A chance chat with another forum member has got me motivated again.

Could also end in tears; we'll see.

Interesting. 340x32?

Could be good, but when the new setup runs out I'll probably go 350Z Brembo or Akebono.

That's the plan, hopefully be able to bring it in under a grand, closer to $800.

i'll be up for that one Dale, got the callipers already :)

Apparently there was some industrial action in the states, and my BCs are still sitting in a container somewhere >_<

Now I'm unlikely to get them for another 2 weeks

Car is getting a service and wash today though, have to clean the bugs off.

I was really lucky and got my Tanabe Sustec coil overs from JDM Concept when he had an end of financial year sale so I got them delivered for the ultimate bargain price of $740 nyaanyaa.gif Thats half price and it was the only set he had on sale. I love the ride and most importantly the boss doesn't complain about them being too hard.

Pulled bumper reo and intercooler off yesterday and this morning. cleaned intercooler, not very dirty though, cleaned lights while they where out, look a little better. cut reo a bit in an effort to get my front bumper sitting better over the intercooler, reo sits heaps better but front bar still out of adjustment though. bad. guess i'll have to put the sikaflex back in to hide the gap, and save for an R34 conversion kit haha

Absolutely nothing yet cause I don't pick it up till next Sunday lol. But 3" dump pipe back exhaust will be fitted straight away and have nismo gt le mans group A turbos, jjr adjustable cam gears, 750cc injectors and walbro fuel pump (if needed) ready to go and will be getting haltech platinum pro for management. Will keep updating progress

    • It only looks tidy, as most of the stuff that was on the whole back wall, is now in the trailer to go to the tip, or has been shoved in my 2.2x2.4m "Spare parts room", and now I can't get to anything in there Ha ha ha I could definitely do with a bit more space, but I'd just end up with your problems I'm going to enclose the car port beside the garage, and move a lot of stuff into it I think. OR... It will be setup as a fabrication area, and the main garage will have parts storage in it. I'm not sure yet... Need some pictures of that big shed you've got with the bikes and Skyline in
    • No. I think it's gone. 😭 I think you can get body coloured ones on eBay so I think I'll get one of those... Or just hang a red ribbon from the hole and whack a TOW sticker next to it.
    • Can't say I've had a bad experience with one on my car, then again it only gets washed once or twice a year... The wheels on the other hand, get a good spray often due to my shitty dusty pads.
    • @MBS206 thats pretty neat and tidy to me!  I'll get a photo of mine when I'm out there next. It might require multiple photos to understand the scale of the atrocities though... In total I have 4 sheds of varying sizes and layouts. Main shed is 14x8, second shed is 3x8, third shed is 11x2.5, fourth shed is around 6x4.  All are pretty much full.   The main goal of my cleaning tsunami is to make the main shed predominantly car and motorbikes only. Second shed is my metal fab room (2 x bench grinders, drill press, bench belt sander, metal band saw, scrap metal storage and some of my garden tools.  3rd shed is more bigger garden stuff, storage for engine crane, jack stands, concrete grinder, concrete mixer, air compressor lives there, and it now has two 2mx2m pallet racking shelves with itemised boxes holding building stuff, electrical stuff, plumbing stuff, etc, etc.  The 4th shed is Ryobi electric ride on mower, mini boom sprayer, ancient Kubota tractor, more garden stuff!  I have got a lot of shit....  Then there's the pool house (8mx4m) and the pool pump shed (4mx4m).  I built all of the sheds over the 11 years we've been here.  The main shed was a Ranbuild kit, the rest are all custom made to fit the areas available. Building the main shed taught me a LOT as I had no idea about building anything prior to that!  I've still got one more in me. It will be my man cave which I poured the extra concrete for way back when I poured the concrete for the main shed. The idea is the Skyline will be a centre piece of the main cave once (if...) it's finished.  I told my now 14 year old son yesterday that I will 100% drive him to his year 10 formal in 2 years. Still a long way off but at least I now have a date to work towards! 🤣
    • Modern oils are amazing. Add tyres to that as well.
