They came up well!

thanks!

damn hard work on the hands sanding.. but so satisfying when done.

Took a while as I only have cordless drills so very low speed/ torque. For about 30 bucks in materials though a new lease of life

Found this thing waiting for me when I got off work today, freshly delivered from Sendai, Japan

btw anyone have access to the Nissan Fast software to run the VIN for me? Just want to be extra sure I did in fact buy an Autech 260rs, all the signs point to that but just want to be 1000% sure

ahh they are such a great car aren't they :) post up or pm me the vin and i can check.

I used the Stagea to tow the Leaf to Bathurst and back on the weekend, it made easy work of a very heavy load as always. Very happy with how the car runs, even though it has over 300,000klm on it now

Big thanks to Duncan for running the VIN for me :)

Stopped by the local Super Autobacs yesterday after work and picked up a mount to hold my phone so I can use it as a navigation and picked up some good ol' JDM squash air freshener.

Phone mount on the left side, obviously no phone in it because I used it to take the pic :P

and some cheeky seat belt covers that I've had in every car since I was 16, they were a gift from a friend in high school for my 16th birthday

Seemed to have developed a boost or fuel cut on hard acceleration in 2nd gear and sometimes 3rd. Not sure if what has happened but feel like the engine fuel and boost all cut for a second so I let off the gas for a sec and bang all good again. Any one with thoughts on what it could be boost cut, fuel cut ? Running 19psi on max rom tuned with Walbro pump 3" turbo back and intake.

Maxing injectors maybe?

don't know if you are running with EBC. if you have EBC, you can block stock boost sensor that could let you know it is boost cut or fuel cut.

with aftermarket ECU, maybe the problem is your 3" turbo back, it will increase your boost level.

btw, do you have boost gauge to measure the boost level?

i also have some fuel cut and EMU is on my hand now :nyaanyaa:

I have a ebc and gauge reading 19psi max boost. I deleted the stock boost solenoid a year ago. How can you tell if it's boost or fuel cut by blocking the solenoid?

You can just block stock boost sensor, then you never get 21psi boost cut.

See attached pic, No.1 is boost sensor

Could the factory ecu re learn itself and try to adjust for the max rom

It does exactly that, although it is fast at learning, so I would have expected it to be sorted on the dyno.

If the AFM is hitting over voltage in one particular cell it will fuel cut like this, but the voltage this happens at changes depending on the cell.

Nathan, if it is boost cut I would expect the MIL to light up. I wonder if the AFM was clamped correctly... As I said I have no idea how they tuned the HDI mate.

thank you gents I blocked off the map sensor this morning drove it hard to work to see if any boost cut... Seems to have done the trick.

I wasn't getting a mil light when it was happening but seems good now I'll test over the coming days and see how it goes.

I wasn't getting any cut in the dyno or for a few weeks after the tune, just came on all of a sudden. The ECU does learn at a fast rate so not sure why or how it happened.

Thanks for everyone's help with this gents [emoji106][emoji4]

Some new wheels on won on auction so will have to wait for them to get delivered.

Also bought a Transgo shift kit to liven up the gear box.

The guy i bought it from has only one left. $250 + delivery.

If anyone is interested, please let me know so can pass the details on ☺️

This learning only happens off boost/low load for fuel.

Finally got my AMPerformance intake fitted, straight away noticed the extra flow.

Throttle more sensitive down low, less throttle needed to get the car rolling.

Haven't tested high rpm yet.

Thanks to Craig for fitting it, wasn't easy.

Nice, and it's up high that it's makes the most difference

spent some time this weekend exploring, trying to figure out what mods were already on the car, so far I've found:

Nismo Exhaust

Nismo Air Intake

HKS EVC 3

Apexi Turbo Timer

Coilovers (brand unknown)

Carrozzeria head unit

waiting to hear back from local shop about doing a full fluid change/flush and to have them inspect the car in more detail

    • You’ll want to have the block drilled and tapped to suit 1/2in head studs and the head for the same. How much power do you intend to make?
    • Sorry for resurrecting an oldish thread Not much has happened in the past year since the last update. The car did another 1000 miles or so and failed the MOT for the first time in October (failed on tyres which had been advised for a couple of years) In October the car got put up for sale and was removed in November due to no interest, being so close to christmas it was to be expected. The roads were dry in February so I decided to tax it early and get the new tyres fitted.   Fast forward to April, I got someone in to give the car a good clean after sitting for the winter.                                 The car got re-advertised and today (Saturday 3rd May) the car sold. The new owner is planning a GTR conversion at some point and a respray in the same pearl white. It's bitter sweet, it's a shame to have the car sit there for half the year and then only do 1000 miles. The kids are growing too quick and space in the back is getting limited. It's been a great 6.5 years of ownership
    • And if you want more power, more reliably, and cheaper, go get the Aussie RB... The 4L Barra and put that in instead.
    • No cats will keep discolouring the rear bar. Sends white paint a weird yellow stain. Cut and polish normally gets it out, but you'll be doing that every fortnight I found.
    • Both heads will be equally reliable or unreliable depending on what you do to them.  Stock the RB26 head will flow more. You have access to the stock intake ITB manifold on the RB26 cheaply which flows really well(1000hp+).   Arguably more aftermarket support for RB26, though in Aus we love our RB30 SOHC heads too.    The only downsides to the RB26 head is if you have a VL commodore and want to keep the SOHC look.  Where you may have an issue is drilling out the rb30 block for the bigger head studs but if you are building a big power motor you'd probably put bigger studs on the SOHC head too.  This is just about finding a good machine shop, sometimes easier said than done.  RB30 head worked can make big power just like a Rb26 head, so really it actually more comes down to what your preference is for your car.  People now even making billet versions of both.
